A decade ago we sent the Mazda in to have an R12 to R134a conversion. Everything else checked out, so it was a simple conversion. Well, a decade later on mostly unsealed, rough and violent roads the A/C still works flawlessly. Not a single leak, compressor starts spooling the moment the switch is pressed. Most cars don't make it past 18 months out here without serious damage to the A/C system, the job Jake did back then is testament to their workmanship. Can't speak for mechanical work, but if their refrigeration work is anything to go by, extremely highly recommended.

Pies have one outstanding quality - they don't fall apart when eaten with one hand. The Guiness pies are a standout. Stocks plenty of local soft drinks. Only downside is one till that holds up sales during busy times. Apart from that it's a great small bakery!

My wife's car was incredibly dirty. We live out of town and it was covered in bug debris and mud from the constant water crossings and gravel roads we deal with on a daily basis. I needed to kill some time, so decided to head here for an automatic car wash. Well... the car wash attendant was almost about to head home and popped out when I realised I needed to buy a token or enter loose change for a car wash.

I was expecting a generic, not-much-good, automatic car wash. Not only did he cheerfully take my $20 and give me $2 change (provided he could still get home to watch the footy!) - he completely sprayed the car manually and painstakingly scrubbed all the bugs and mud off. For the normal price of $18. Mentioned he loved his job and always had an enthusiasm for it. After the wash the Elantra was the cleanest I'd seen it since new. Amazing, thorough and friendly service. He could have told me to bugger off and go elsewhere... but being so dedicated he did his job and then some. Great bloke, great service.

Great local pub. Most expensive meal on the menu is the mixed grill and that's less than $20. Lovely expat Kiwi couple run the pub, drink prices good and a friendly pokie-free atmosphere. When they get busy there's usually a lag in service time but to be expected for a husband-and-wife team running a business with multiple demands. Meals almost fall off your plate they're that generous. Comparable meals in either Nobby or Cambooya (neighbouring towns) are almost double the price. Well recommended.

German efficiency at its finest. Stock on pallets, designed to operate on minimum inputs and pass the savings onto the customer. Quality of products is good and very consistent. Parking is much better than the adjacent shopping centres. Sadly, the efficiency falls down at peak periods. Long queues are normal, the poor staff become stressed and fling the items at you to scoop into your bag or box. If your product is sold out or unavailable - good luck getting past the queue to exit the store. Checkout aisles are tiny and the disabled one is never open. Coles and Woolworths generic products are normally a similar price now so Aldi has lost some of its allure. Great chocolate though!

For $19 the buffet is outstanding. Over 100 menu items all delivered to your table. Massive variety catering to all dietary and culinary needs. Service is usually quite good but when busy it falls down a little and members of your party end up being forgotten in the rush and a meal request that normally takes 10 minutes can take upwards of an hour. Staff aren't too keen fielding enquiries on dietary needs (I have a soy allergy that makes eating Chinese food challenging). I stick with what I know. Recommended.

Lovely buffet. I have a serious soy allergy so being able to see what you're about to consume is great. Food is fresh and tasty. Quite reasonably priced given the great service and ambience. Only issue is they don't serve "traditional" Chinese food - you need to head to Sunnybank in Brisbane for that. Sad that most places feel they need to deep fry everything to cater to Australian palates - true Chinese cuisine is outstanding!

Nicely appointed store with a good range of products for whatever your need; gluten free, dairy free etc. Cafe is a nice touch. Produce is horribly overpriced as another reviewer has touched on. Also "organic" (I use quotes as that term refers to a carbon containing substance) while allowing no synthetic inputs allows effectively unlimited naturally occurring herbicides and pesticides to be utilised - some are quite nasty so you need to be sure of the actual inputs the producer uses. Apart from that a nice shop that fits a good market niche.
