Went there for lunch on a Saturday, when we were shopping in Chatswood Chase. The restaurant itself was small but we managed to get a table since we were quite late (2pm). Hubby ordered the roasted duck wantan mee, which came with a huge portion of duck. I was more adventurous and ordered the Four Treasure Rice, which was supposed to be served wit 4 random types of BBQ meat. I was a little worried about the type of meat that they would serve but it turned out that I was worried for nothing! My Four Treasure rice had BBQ chicken, Roasted pork, BBQ sausage and BBQ pork! Pretty darn good for $9.50, I'd say.

Hubby and I went to Ribs & Rumps for lunch on a weekday and we tried the combo meal that was enormous! There was a rump steak, a slab of pork ribs, a slab of lamb ribs and plenty of chips. The pork ribs were one of the best! They were tender and flavourful, and I loved the charred edges. It was my first time having lamb ribs, and I thought they grilled them very well. Full of flavour without the strong gamey taste. All things considered, the rump steak paled in comparison to the rest. So I think in our next visit, we'd probably stick with pork and lamb ribs, the winning combo. :)

My husband and I went there for dinner on a weeknight. There was a queue but we managed to get a table after about 10 minutes. We ordered the dinner set for 2, which came with 2 choices of main dish, complimentary vegetables, complimentary pot of soup, rice and Chinese tea. The cost was $33+ but we thought it was good value. We chose the salmon fish head in XO sauce as main dish 1 and Steamed fish as main dish 2. I absolutely LOVED the salmon head! The portion was generous, plenty of salmon meat found and the gravy was delicious. The free soup was white radish and carrot, very tasty too. Good value for money paid.

This review is for PappaRoti, Kogarah NSW

Walking past the store was difficult without turning my head around because the aroma from the roti / bread was very fragrant. Tried the signature papparoti bun coated with coffee on the outside with melting butter inside. I think it was sold at around $2.50 each but it's so fresh that one was not enough. Hoping to see more branches around Sydney.

Tried their Char Kuey Teow last weekend, possibly the signature dish of Jackie M. There is a Chicken version and Seafood version but it's worth paying the extra couple of dollars for Seafood. The Seafood char kuey teow we ordered had at least 6 huge and fresh prawns in it! The portion was decent and the noodles were fried with good 'heat of wok'. Very delicious and will definitely return for more!

This review is for New Yen Yen Supermarket, Chatswood NSW

Newly opened New Yen Yen in Chatswood - so much bigger, comfortable and new! I used to do my shopping in the Eastwood branch which is smaller and more cramped. The Chatswood branch is more spacious and the fresh food area has a lot of variety. I could not get enough of the selection of fresh vegetables available here. Most other items are well-stocked, one could get anything ranging from seasoning to spices, crockery and toiletries. Very good prices too.

My favourite place to go for groceries shopping! They sell a wide variety of Asian groceries and at a reasonably cheap price. I love their selection of fresh vegetables as well, sometimes you can get a bunch of bananas for less than $1 (ripened ones). The good thing about this supermarket is the close proximity to the multilevel car park just across the road. The car park offers free parking so I could usually shop with a peace of mind.

We went there just last weekend and the place was crowded with a few people waiting in front for a table. We were not sure what to do so we just waited until we were the only ones left queuing, thinking the next table would be for us. Suddenly, a couple came to join the queue, and they seemed to know what to do while waiting - wrote on the piece of booking sheet and tore off the booking number. The waitress, who clearly saw us waiting since 10 minutes ago, immediately acknowledged the new couple who had the booking number and ignored us! How unfair. She clearly saw us waiting but chose to ignore / inform us regarding the booking sheet. We eventually wrote down our booking and got attended to, but they certainly could improve on their service.

Only the best place for roti canai (flying roti) in Sydney. So fluffy and light, especially when it's hot. This is just like the one back in Malaysia, albeit >10x the price back home. But beggars can't be choosers! Glad to have a taste of home, you've got to admit :)

We've been here a couple of times: Once during lunch and once during dinner. The prices for lunch are lower and hence, better value. The char kuey teow was fabulous. Tasted just as good as the real deal in Malaysia. But the fried rice was a little bit of a let down. We asked for it to be done spicy and that was all there was to it - just spicy with no other flavour.

Tip: Just order the char kuey teow and chendol to avoid disappointment.
