Ordered a strawberry sponge cake and pumpkin pie. Crazy delicious cakes at very reasonable prices. There are many varieties of cakes and old school pies (apple, rhubarb, etc) that I will return to sample including an interesting looking original take on the humble vanilla slice. Not your typical bakery! No dine in option when I was there due to covid but other than that well worth the trip.
Large servings for reasonable money but inconsistent quality. First visit the food ordered by the whole family was excellent. A couple of months later I made a quick solo visit after fasting for the day. Ordered the same burger I did the first visit and it was the driest burger I’ve ever eaten. Zero juices or oils. Added tomato sauce but it was in vain. It was only towards the end of the meal that I put my finger on what was wrong. A burger is a tough meal to get so wrong. Given the time it took to arrive I’d guess the patties were pre cooked and cooked well done to keep better. Not good. The waiter was polite but made no attempt to make things right. The person at the counter was disappointed the waiter did not deal with the issue but was at a loss to do so herself. I’ll give this place a second chance based on the positive first experience and my families strong desire to return but if the experience in anything like today’s then that will be it. Common universal get your act together!

In past we have held a 40th bday at the levesen for 60 people where we hired out the whole back section and semi outdoor courtyard. A fathers days dinner for 20. The food and service were fine however my most recent experience was sadly disappointing. I ordered a Wagyu burger and it came raw inside. I don’t mind rare but this was raw from first bite. The waiter took it back and had the patty cooked more. It was not a fresh serving. The burger lack flavour and I barely ate it. Mozzarella belongs on a pizza or Parma not in a burger. Frankly the service was borderline rude and the staff seemed apathetic at best. The waiter could see I was unhappy and that the burger was largely uneaten but did not give a shit. I cannot recommend the Leveson based on this experience. Stay well away unless you like sub-par food and staff that lack basic decency.
