Every food lover in Melbourne should visit Pellegrini's at least once in their lifetime. But Its really all about the history and the atmosphere. The food is ok and the staff are a little rude. Its supposed to be like that but the highlight is the place itself. I've been told that It hasn't changed for years. Its a rare piece of Melbourne old school and It's really worth a visit!

Not a bad take away curry house. It has a great range of hot curry's with many of them ready made. They can make curries for any heat level - from "chilli virgin" all the way to "i can't feel my ears" hot. If you are in the mood for a spicy curry, you won't have to ask twice here to "make it spicy".

I went to the Builders Arms on a busy Thursday night with a friend. We had the set menu which was exceptional! The steamed mussels, and the whipped cod roe was delicious. This fairly good value per head - and we were very full by the end! They also have a great selection of beers and the bar staff were great. Worth checking out and it's in a great location! (can just catch the 86 tram, and it stops right outside)
Approximate cost: $8-65
I was very satisfied with my meal, the soft shell beef taco with wedges and I thought the Mexican flag in it was a nice touch! Just basic a Mexican place, but sometimes that's all you want. Great for a quick eat before you head out on the town!
Approximate cost: $8-25
It's the only Cambodian in town and I hadn't had Kmer food since I was in Cambodia a few years ago.
As you enter "Phnom Pehn" it actually looks and feels like a restraunt in Phnom Pehn with it's bad decor and cheesy Asian music. But the staff are helpful and the experience in general is good (nothing flash).
Approximate cost: $10-20
Great place to find some awesome bargains and also some of that miscellaneous stuff that you probably don't need. Also really great for getting friends and family weird presents. It also has fancy dress stuff, kids birthdays, Christmas presents and a lot of garden and hardware (i.e hammers, hinges, garden gnomes and some stuff I can't even identify). It also has plenty of strange religious items. I got a friend a crucifix with party lights on it and like I said, miscellaneous stuff that you probably don't need.
Approximate cost: $50c - $20
Located in China town, this restaurant has some interesting dishes. But the main highlight for me was the theme of the restaurant. The restaurant in kind of a tribute for Deng Xiaoping (Deng was a reformist who led China towards a market economy). Really worth checking out if you looking for an different dinning experience.
Approximate cost: $10-40
Not a bad little pub. It's a beautiful old building with a traditional feel inside. They have a good range of English and Irish stout on tap. It's also got a great social atmosphere most days of the week, and a large seating area at the front for the nicotine addicts.
Approximate cost: $1-100
This is a large shopping mall so it has heaps of shops and lots of parking. Has a lot of different shops under the one roof. Everything from The ABC Shop to the Zamels Jewelers. Plus it has a movie theater.
Approximate cost: $1-1000
Great collection of comics! The staff are friendly and have great range of knowledge, and they even have an extensive selection of other items that are comic related, including back-issues.
The store is a little hidden, just on a alley off Bourke Street (in between Bourke and Little Bourke Street)
Worth checking out and very affordable prices.
