Excellent food, very fresh sashimi and sushi. This restaurant is hard to beat for value and atmosphere. Half of the Leura residents are regulars and you can always meet someone. One thing I could say about this restaurant is that it is a shame they are closed on Sunday nights.

This review is for I Chi Ban Teppan Yaki, Sydney NSW

This is a teppanyaki restaurant so for those that do not want food thrown around, don't bother coming. Overall I would consider this restaurant as average but there is one let down. The service here is terrible. The waiters don't have a clue about whats going on and communicating with them is extremely hard. Furthermore, there is quite a bit of pressure for you to leave once you've finished.

Overall I found the kitchen staff that cooked for us as below average. Yes he cooked quite well but he was very much in a rush and not very talkative. Looking around the room I found most of the kitchen staff's were similar. Having been to other teppan-yaki restaurants I found the portions were reasonable and generous. The food didn't taste all that good and was quite bland but then again that is typical of teppanyaki restaurants. More entertainment rather than great food.

This is quite a nice Japanese restaurant and it sells a large range of typical Japanese food for a great price. There are many other Japanese stroes I would rather visit though.

Find the food here to be of quite a high standard, both sushis as well as the hot food items. Even desserts were kind of satisfying although deviates a bit from the usual Japanese sweet choices, more like westernised in a way.

I did find the Sushi's (sitting at the counter) to be slightly bland in a way, but only because they're fairly traditional and limited with use of condiments/garnishes to enhance the sushi's flavours. Nothing wrong with this approach at all really, but, unfortunately, because Australia doesn't have a lot of fish and shell fish choices, the chef's extra effort put into making the most out of the limited choice of ingredients can make it more satisfying sometimes?

Not as good sushi as Melbourne's top places though. Interesting wine list to go with their food, highly recommend for you to try it.

have been a regular for many years now. This place is consistently good. Just when I think I'm used to the menu there is always a tasty new morsel to become a new favourite. Standouts are the salmon rolls which are slightly charred (with a blow torch). The sashimi here is always of a high standard. This is the best sushi train in Chatswood (there are several). I have eaten at numerous sushi trains over the years but this is by the far the best over tim

This is one of my favourite local restaurants. The food is made then and there so it is always fresh! The grilled calamari is divine, love the sushi, sashimi and gyozas. All very tasty! Hard to get a table if you don't book ahead most nights.

This place is not cheap and we felt a bit rushed but overall the food was very good and we had an entertaining night out. Probably best to avoid Saturday nights as they are very busy and you do feel rushed in and rushed out. Food was delicious.

This review is for Ajisen Ramen, Sydney, Haymarket NSW

verified email - 23 Aug 2009

Tried this place from a recommendation of my friend. To be honest, the ramen is just average, nothing really special about the soup and the price is somehow a bit too much, the place decor is nice though, but you would want to sit inside rather than outside, friday nite around world tower area is just too noisy. Would I come back? I don't think so, there are better ramen shops around Sydney!

One of the most memorable dining experiences, a hidden gem! Fresh seafood/sashimi, we loved the dressing on the salad. Teriyaki chicken also superb. Markedly top-class and relatively affordable Japanese.

This review is for Ah-Ha Korean Restaurant, Sydney NSW

The food sold here is typically Korean and is nice whilst being quite inexpensive. There is a large range of food to choose from however, and the staff are quite helpful.
