On Tuesday 28SEP21, the panel display of my Subaru lit up with a whole suite of warning lights, so I arranged for a diagnostic to be done on Thursday 30SEP21. The vehicle was brought in for an early start at 07:30 hrs. & I mentioned that I needed the problem solved at this point because I had pre planned a road trip to commerce the following week. At 09:56 hrs I received a call from the service agent to advise that they’d found ‘Multiple DTC’s relating to the vehicle battery’. He advised that they could charge the battery on their premises, but it wouldn’t be ready for collecting until early afternoon. I asked if it made any difference if I did this job at my home, since I had a working charger. He replied it’d be okay, & they ‘Cleared Codes’ & recommended that I charge up the battery to 12.6v. I subsequently completed a full charge & on Friday 01OCT21 did a brief run around in the vehicle, whereupon the same warnings lit-up again. I soon afterwards returned home & on Saturday 02OCT21, I called in RACQ to get the ball rolling in preparation for my upcoming trip. The gentleman performed a series of tests that delivered a ‘good’ result for the battery. Furthermore, an analysis indicated that the ‘oxygen sensor’ was amiss & would likely require replacement. The error codes were cleared again . This upcoming job is a necessary inconvenience. The fault should have been identified by this entity & fixed at the outset in-line with my stated requirements.
