We are lucky to have such a great fish and chip takeaway shop in our town. They are friendly and fast. Because they are so conveniently located, you can place your order then duck over to the video shop to get a movie, or over to the supermarket to pick up some drinks to go with your takeaway. They will also take orders over the phone so you can place your order before you leave home and know that it will be ready when you get there.

This bookshop has a good range of books to cater for all age groups. They are conveniently located in the main street of Springwood. You can buy a book voucher if you are looking for a gift.

George and his team have extensive knowledge and experience. They don't take any risks and are highly professional. They are dependable - I was booked in for a quote and George turned up at the time he said he would. He gave freely of his knowledge and answered all the questions I asked. The work was done exactly as I expected it to be.

Fantastic from start to finish. Nick is a local and the quality of his work shows that he has a huge respect for his community. The work and the service from this garage are outstanding - I am so pleased to have found him after a string of poor mechanic experiences. His garage is also convenient to the shopping centre, the bus and train and to the local school and preschools.

Housed in an old house, this centre has an amazing range of all things to do with science and puzzles. My kids love to go here just to look around - we often do this. There is a room where games and puzzles are set up so you can try them out. In the back of the building there is a display that kids (and adults) will find interesting and amusing. A great place to visit whether you end up buying anything or not - but I bet you will!

This is always a good supermarket to go to. They have everything I ever need as well as a terrific fresh fruit and vegetables section. the parking is always easy and the supermarket is central to the town.

This hardware store beats that other big one hands down for range of products, service and price. They can always be depended on to know what you need and if they don't have it, they have a name and number of someone who has.

Lovely cakes and good coffee with coffee/cake deals available for that morning or afternoon tea that you really probably shouldn't have but will anyway! Seating is either inside or outside - fantastic to have that choice. Service is great and staff are friendly and helpful.

This petrol station seems to be open all the time - I think it may be 24 hours which is fantastic because I have been there at 1 or 2 o'clock in the past to buy ciggies. the staff are always very friendly. Petrol prices here are the same as elsewhere in the mountains - no bargains there, but there are often good deals on things like drinks and chocolates - and a good range of icecream for that late night snack.
