Great website! Since I found the site I've been back time and again to review local business listings. I've never been sent loads of spam - just great offers like the recent chance to win an iPad. I've got nothing bad to say about WOMOW!

My wife and I have been with Internode for many years now for our home ADSL connection. They also host my business website.

Their service has been second to none - no overseas call centre, just prompt and helpful service. Their technicians know what they're talking about too.

They may not be the cheapest, but they are the best value for money.

After hearing from a few friends about the Food Garden home deliveries, we decided to give them a try, in the interests of spending less on impulse purchases at the supermarket.

Man, we got more than we bargained for! Our food box was great quality, locally grown fruit and vegetables and plenty of variety. We got the couples box because our kids are still very little and we it's just the right size. It was also home delivered for a very small fee.

Approximate cost: $35-60 per week

This review is for Jim Welsh Dance Studio, Ballarat VIC

verified email - 13 Feb 2008

We are long-term dancers at the Jim Welsh studio. The instructors all have excellent knowledge of their areas and most are excellent teachers. The atmosphere is fun and private lessons are not too expensive, especially when split between a small group of friends. No partner is needed as the instructors are so friendly they will get you dancing in no time!

Group classes are also available as well as a very friendly social night at incredibly reasonable rates.

Approximate cost: $8 group classes, ~33 private lessons

Excellent chiropractors who do not use "bone-crunching." They came recommended by our dancing instructor and have corrected long-term problems my wife had. They were also recommended by our pediatrician to treat our newborn baby.

Some adjustments can cause dizzyness and other symptoms, but with our current chiropractor, this has never happened.

Overall, I would recommend them to anyone with any short-term or chronic pain that is related to tendons, joints or tension.

Quality: Generally very good. Heavy on the cheese and dairy factor. Also, impossible to find anything without garlic and/or onion. Paella is pretty awesome and worth the wait.

Desserts deserve special mention as they are all non-standard and many (maybe all?) are made on the premises. Some are made as you order them.

Drinks menu is extensive and sensational. Sangria is excellent.

Service: Wait staff friendly and attentive. Nice to see the same faces every visit.

Value: Meals are massive. Bring your appetite as we rarely finish the main meal. In fact, it's impossible to finish if you also order an entree. If you would like dessert, do not order an entree!

Overall: No change rooms for babies. Toilets average (symptom of the premises age). Can be very busy. Advisable to book. They do takeaway, but the meals do not travel well.

Approximate cost: $15-30

Me:
Quality: The food I had was average. Definitely good but I've had better - maybe because they try to cover so much ground.

Service: I thought the wait staff were being very helpful until they sat a family with a screaming three year old next to our little sleeping baby (in an almost empty room).

Value: Overall price for a three course meal was as expected.

Overall: I would only go there if I had a group of people that were very fussy about the style of food they liked, because of the range. However, if I want Indian, Thai or Italian I'll go to another restaurant.

My wife:
The entire experience was approx. pub quality. There's nothing on the menu that you couldn't do better at home. Average selections executed in an average way. All the rice was standard long grain (no jasmine for Thai food, no basmati for Indian food). Desserts were all stock standard, shipped in from elsewhere pub style. Vegetables were completely missing from main dishes. My particular main meal was poorly done (salmon instead of white fish).

Also the Coffee machine was broken, which meant no hot drinks of any kind were available.

Approximate cost: $12-20

I regularly shop here. We recently moved and it is now our closest supermarket. The Quality is great, but the range is slightly smaller than the Big Supermarkets. The Service is excellent. The value is great as well, with regular special on fresh food. They even had LIVE Mussels in a portable incubator just last week.

This review is for Chat for Tea, Ballarat VIC

verified email - 02 Dec 2007

I have eaten at Chat for Tea for about 2 years. A vegetarian tea house and restaurant in Ballarat, it is a pleasure to eat at and take-away. The food is all vegetarian, and has no onion or garlic (This appeals to Krishnas and some Daoists), and tastes great!

Quality - The food is always superb. The food selection is small by restaurant standards, but the tea selection is large and includes bubble tea and iced teas.

Service - The service is always nice and friendly.

Value - The food is appropriately priced.

Overall - Overall, Char for Tea gets a 5 since there is nothing else like it in Ballarat, you will enjoy the experience and the food tastes great!

Approximate cost: $9-15

This review is for Deeva Indian Restaurant, Ballarat East VIC

verified email - 02 Dec 2007

I have eaten at Deeva's several times, both take-away and dine-in. Their service has always been friendly (in a casual way) and the atmosphere in the restaurant is good. In a town where 95% of cafes serve Pizza, it is a welcome change.

Quality - We have never had any issues with the quality of the food. Very consisent and good.

Service - The service has been friendly, although usually staffed by university students, not professional wait staff. Expect friendly casual service.

Value - The value is good. There is a student lunchtime special.

Overall - We keep going back for more!

Approximate cost: $10-20
