This place is handy, although it does have a 'school trip' feel to it. It's getting a bit tired. Despite this it's good for the kids to see farm animals. The pigs are a bit scary, they are huge. However the petting area (goats and sheep) were placid enough. There is the chance to ride on a pony (for a fee) also a tractor ride of the park (also for a fee). The canteen was pretty dissappointing....sooooo slow. The clydesdales were lovely though. It was convenient however I think they need to market this place a bit better too make it more appealing.

Pretty impressive for a small zoo. The variety of animals on display was pretty cool. Despite the fact the deer that roam around freely kept eating the pram and our clothes etc, the kids seemed to enjoy themselves. The giraffes were a surprise! This really was a highlight of our trip to the area! The tiny monkeys were cool as well - who ever thought they came that small! lol! we used the pram on offer there too which was handy! The playground at the end was a special treat for the kids. And the benches about half way around the zoo was welcome respite for us all!

This is the most gorgeous restaurant, it's huge with lots of variations with seating. The food was tasty (albeit a bit pricy) but you can just imagine having a function here. They sell tasty preserves etc as well. Great place to go whilst on hols or for a treat! Love it! Keep up the good work!

Love the wine from these guys and they offer free delivery within vic. It generally comes the next day! They are friendly regardless of how much you order. Can't beat the 12 cleanskin whites (a fruity blend) for $50 delivered (if you buy more than a dozen)

This is a new addition to Hurstbridge and a welcome one. A quirky little store that stocks a lot of local creations such as the typewriter jewellery and some of the iconic melbourne gear. Also soo many lovely hats and handbags. You look for hours in this tiny store! what interested me was there lovely little collection of semi-precious jewellery. You can find a lovely gift here. Some oriental gear as well. Check out the website. The lady that served me was very helpful and patient and wrapped my gift which is great!! I'll be back, probably for a gift for myself! loL! a hidden treasure this place is!

We popped in here for coffee on hols and it was very busy (sun morn). It's a funky place, sharing tables, funky decor great ambience. You can dine in or out a bit of a courtyard, and tables on the sidewalk. The breakfasts look great (however I cannot comment as we didn't have them). Fairly pricy for breakfast (in my view) however whilst the coffee was nice....the macaroon we had was SOOOOO disappointing I've had better from McDonalds. This one was wet inside....i really should have complained but was too embarrassed...if i were in town again i would try the breakfasts but i might try the macaroon again just to show them how woeful it was!

I'm in love with this whole place now. It's the best for little kids because they get to see lots of different animals and it's only a donation to get in.. There is a goat and cow, lots of chickens a turkey, Shetland (i think) pony, guinea pigs (and i'm sure i've left some out). The best thing is you don't have to stay for ages (like when you pay for zoo admission) you can just pop in say hi to animals and go. the kids love it. there is a little caravan for treats too. and heaps of courses you can take advantage of (for a fee) if you are inclined. I can't wait to have an 'event' here....the facilities are great.

I am in love with this place. Not a fan of native plants usually but this place presents them so well. Presented on tables (so you don't have to stoop) in lovely little tubes all the specimens include a photo of what they look like and information about them in front of each row - so helpful.. This nursery has opened my eyes to the variety of native plants around and also they are just so cheap- i think the small plants are like $1.75 or something ridiculously cheap. And theya re all so healthy. Go have a look you won't regret it. However you might need directions to find the plants they are well into the farm.

We live over 20 mins away from Monty now but we still visit this barber for my husbands and now son's haircuts. Mustafa is just sooo friendly and the other ladies that work here are meticulous with our haircuts and respectfully listen as we ask for a bit more off here or there. I reckon they spent about 15mins on my son's hair!! and an adults haircut is about $20 and my son's $15 - not bad in this day and age. You don't make apps here just rock up and wait...it does get busy though. Happily it's in such a great location it's easy to kill time. Love this little barbers and we'll go as long as he's open. Also i've noted pensioners do get discounts here at certain times. By the way this is no pretentious place this is a good old fashioned barbers (with ladies styling too! LOL!)

I'm addicted to the Phoenix cards, they are just such good quality and for only $3 a card how can you beat it. The designs include birds and butterflys - so many designs I want them all and derive so much pleasure from sending such pretty cards to my friends and family/ they are different from Hall Mark cards - they are simple and gorgeous.

Approximate cost: $3
