Nice little bistro with cheap pub food! The chicken parmigana was very tasty, but the chips were a little overseasoned and the salad was covered in a dressing that was far too strong for me. However, the price was great and the service was as is expected at a little bistro. Cricket on the big screen and a nice escape from the summer heat.
Approximate cost: $14
Generally busy and a few seats need fixing up with more than tape, but the gelato is great and the staff are very friendly! A little too expensive for my student budget but definitely a nice once in a while treat.
Went on a Sunday night and was treated to all you can eat pizza, great music and wonderful service. The pizza was the best that I'd had and the staff were very friendly. Great atmosphere, I just wish I'd left room for dessert!
Goldberg's is a regular haunt for my boyfriend and I - the prices are a little higher than I'd like, but on Darby Street that isn't surprising. Eating outside on a summer day is amazing and I can't recommend it enough. Good staff, excellent breakfast and some of the best coffee in Newcastle!
I've always been pleasantly surprised by how quickly the Rolador staff manage to get through the peak hours - which I always find myself at Hamilton Station in. Though their coffee is also excellent, it's the smoothies that I keep coming back to - I highly recommend the banana chai smoothie for something a little different but amazing.
