I love this place. All the gelato is vegan and high quality. The staff are lovely and it's excellent value. In Summer time I often pop in on my way to and from movies and appointments to grab a scoop or two. I also ordered my ice cream birthday cake from here last April and it was a big hit!

One of my favourite Gelato places in Sydney!

Bliss & Chips is a vegan ''fish and chip'' shop. Dine in or take away. I've been a few times and as a vegetarian it's great to have the taste of fish without the guilt! It's very unique.

The staff are always friendly. There's a wide variety of options on the menu that includes deep fried chocolate bars!

Back on 11 May I first visited Eva's. I'm fairly new to the area and hadn't been to a hairdresser in a few months. I liked the look and feel of Eva's from the outside and popped in to book an appointment. Beautiful set up, very homely and European feel. I like the buddha outside too. Eva struck me as someone who really cares about her customers so I knew immediately I didn't need to go to another salon to compare prices! Today I had my appointment, I knew it would be a long one with 5 months of not touching up my roots! I didn't feel like I was there that long, the beautiful comfortable seats help (I cannot describe and do them justice here!), even the seats at the basins are comfortable. I have back pain which is often chronic and feel it during hair dresser appointments. This is the first time I haven't! Eva offers you lovely sweets that she gets from a friend and I swear are homemade! I am cutting back on sugar so I really had to stop at two and not take the left overs home! They were great shortbread cookies! I felt at home and my hair colour and treatment was amazing but more than that I think I found the most spiritual and passionate hair dresser in Sydney! I like stimulating conversation on varied subjects and it's nice to feel like you could be friends' with your hairdresser rather than reading magazines or playing on your phone and gossiping. I don't like that stuff so if you like excellent quality service and products and to feel like you are transforming in more than a physical level I recommend Eva's. It's definitely unique. I'm keen to try out the massage or facial packages sometime too! I'll be back (budget has been tight since Winter!)

This is a new nail salon. I live only a few minutes walk away and I noticed they had a 20% opening special. I decided to check them out instead of the other place which I've been to once or twice. They are right next to my hairdresser too. Very handy. Alicia was so lovely and I asked about eftpos. She explained they are setting it up, cash only. I said I'd go to the ATM now and was told not to worry, pay later, our customers are honest.
The mani and spa pedi were 20% off so only $36 including hot stone massage on your legs and feet, great massage chairs and lovely Vietnamese ladies. They smile heaps and talk to you if you want, we had the tv on but it wasn't playing poor quality music videos which a lot of places do. There's a really great atmosphere. I ended up discussing politics with the ladies and another local who came in for a pedicure. Truly one of the best salons I've been to in Sydney. You don't just go to get your nails done. They also have a generous loyalty card system. After this review and a late lunch I'm popping to the ATM to pay though Alicia said no rush!
If you live locally I highly recommend checking them out!

I'm a fairly regular customer though I did stop going for awhile when I felt the service was a little erratic. I went back a few weeks ago and I'm glad I did. As a vegetarian who likes to eat regular vegan lunches I have had great meals here. The coffee is fantastic and the sweets too. Everything is made fresh. It's an interesting atmosphere and it's not busy at the usual lunch times except on the weekend. The cafe name is I presume because of the graffiti theme. You can buy products and merchandise to make art. I'm not schooled up on that type of thing, I'm there for the food. The owner whose name I don't actually know can seem a little aloof which to a first time customer can translate as rude. If you talk to him, the owner is quite lovely. Lately we've been discussing the US election, as you do! I have noticed a few of the younger staff need a little extra training; they are not friendly enough, or have issues with the till. I was honest enough once to point out the girl was trying to give me $10 too much change! I'm glad I gave the Graff Caff a second chance. The food and coffee is worth it and if you come in enough, you'll get to know the owner. It's a unique cafe, very vegan friendly and in the heart of Dulwich Hill!

Update as of 28 August 2017 : Graff Caff is now Manmaru, a western Japanese fusion very vegan friendly and run by the original chef/business partner. The original founder left.
I've started going more regularly and found the food and customer service has improved tenfold with the changes.

This review is for Victoria & Hobbs, Lewisham NSW

Vic & Hobbs is my favourite local cafe Victoria & Hobbs. It's very close to the train station in Lewisham. As a vegetarian and semi vegan I am catered for with homemade vege quiches & freshly made French style sandwiches and crocs plus great quality coffee in a French style cafe. There is beautiful artwork and books everywhere. But that's not the only reason I go.
What I really like about this cafe which is similar to the now closed Short Black Panther in Mortdale where I used to live is that the staff really care about their customers. Dale, Alex, Camilla and Casey for instance remember your orders, have a laugh with you and we often sing along to the great old school music Dale and Camilla play. Likewise if you are not feeling great, they like to cheer you up which is great in my situation. I try to go at least twice a week though I'm saving up for potential travel to the US in the next year or so and it's about a 15 minute walk each way for me. The coffee is great. Pricing is reasonable. Sweets are provided by the local Tart Sisters. I only wish they were open Sundays, public holidays and after 2pm but it's a very residential area so that's not something Dale can control. They are open early though. I often find myself inspired by the conversations with the other regular customers. This helps me with my sketch and comedy writing. It's great to not just feel caffeinated and full but also inspired after going to a great cafe. There's a few good cafes in Dulwich Hill but there's something special about Vic & Hobbs and it's the staff! Check it out if you are a local or in the area.

This review is for Art Of Heath - Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture, Penshurst NSW

I recently moved nearby and needed a regular acupuncturist as my mobile contact not very reliable and I as I have bone cancer and ongoing treatments, I find TCM very beneficial especially for my immune system. I found Rachel by chance on a walk home from the train station and have been every fortnight since for a few months. Firstly the first consultation is very thorough and $80 for an hour. A machine is used very accurately using ear acupuncture to diagnose you fully in addition to the usual form you expect to fill in. I've never had such a thorough consult with TCM ever! Very impressed. Rachel is Buddhist and very intuitive and listens and knows I can't have Chinese herbs until I finish my trial chemo drugs and radiation and she gives me moxi and cupping as required but normally just acupuncture and ear seeds to press on for at least 5 days in a row. Follow up sessions are only $50 or $60 if cupping is added on, excellent value and they accept HICCAPS and eftpos/cash if you are paying full price. My Mother was visiting from NZ and had the best ear acupuncture session she has ever had with Rachel's colleague! that's coming from a woman with years of TCM treatments for debilitating rheumatoid arthritis who is only walking and healthy ish due to TCM! That's saying alot! I am looking to move back to the inner west but will still come at least twice a month to the art of health as this is the best TCM practitioner I've ever had!

Approximate cost: $60

I've been here twice, the first time was after 3.30 pm not realizing it was only take out for the last half hour. This is clearly advertised on the website and the staff were friendly and more than happy to heat up and sell me a take out slice of vege lasagne but I had nowhere I could easily stop and eat it so brought vege sweets instead. The next visit was at lunch time, it was busy and the staff were extremely friendly. I believe I had a raw vege lasagne. All the food is raw, predominately vegan and very healthy and tasty. It was amazing! I enjoyed the coconut mocha and the vegan cheesecake too. I don't mind the prices given it's healthier, fresher and it is in line with the inner west cafe prices. I do wish they were open in the evenings or slightly later! I'll be back, the food is amazing!

This review is for Heart and Soul Cafe, Cronulla NSW

verified email - 16 Aug 2015

My other favourite cafe in Cronulla is Heart and Soul. They are predominately vegan (food labelled VG is vegan but everything is 100% vegetarian) They have a hot food and salad bar to choose from and a breakfast and lunch menu in addition to this a range of all vegan sweets, most of which are made with no refined sugar and the coffee is organic and excellent quality! Heart and soul also have yoga classes around the corner. I used to come weekly but I live in Mortdale and had to cut back on costs but I love the food, the service and pricing. It's always busy. It's a smaller cafe so sometimes it feels too crowded especially as you need to pay at the counter first but the food is worth it. I always feel better after eating vegan food, it's healthy, guilt free and honestly just tastes better! We need more cafes like this around! Good job Cronulla!

I've been to Pilgrims once for dinner and several times for lunch and always happy with the food, service and atmosphere! It's always busy, the staff are fantastic and I love the view of the beach! I even brought my Mum here when she was visiting from New Zealand! The portion sizes are very generous and I love fritters and the bliss burger (I think that's the correct name!) the most! I do wish they had almond milk but soy is ok! Mum liked the novelty old school metal milkshake serving cups for smoothies! I love it here, if I lived in Cronulla I'd be here every week!
