Serene space with feel of a European wine bar. Great to drop in for good coffee and a macaroon or a plate of the dish of the day accompanied by a glass (or two) of the very fine wines on offer. Superb
Bring the kids for a Sunday lunch or breakfast or time it to coincide with a monthly farmers' market at the adjacent childrens' farm. Good selection of fresh salads, or tasty sourdough sandwiches, kids menu, good coffee - great spot, reflecting the passion and dedication of its owners. A favourite
Worth a visit for the terrific value buffet. Food can be hit and miss, but bound to find something you like from the wide range of pasta, rice, vegetable curries or dahl and pay only what you feel it is worth. Great atmosphere, great concept and lovely location in grounds of Abbotsford Convent.
Good place to pick up fresh bread and very reasonably priced Fair Trade coffee beans and lovely location, but lacks personal touch of passionate business owner. Often lots of staff milling around not looking like they know what to do. Fair range of acceptable cakes and sandwiches, but missed opportunity, given great location.
Nice on Friday evening to grab pizza and a drink from Boiler Bar next door
Good coffee and reasonable selection of cakes to accompany. Toys thoughtfully provided to entertain kids, but can be a bit tight inside with pram. A few tables outside. Friendly service
Lovely, tucked away local perfect for a coffee with friends or breakfast with the kids. Great collection of cakes - the m'hencha pastry delicious! Breakfast range good, with simple cereal ($3!) for the fussy ones and delicious bircher muesli or eggs for grown ups. Friendly service, but it is CASH ONLY
Approximate cost: $20
Great coffee, with that extra detail about the beans and provenance. Lovely outdoor garden and friendly, helpful staff.
Lovely kid-friendly cafe with good coffee, great selection of cakes and lunches and very friendly staff. Small area at the back, but if you have kids, even better takeaway into the playground next door so you can enjoy coffee while they burn off energy
I just love the fabrics and tee shirts they get in here, from independent designers Aus wide. Easy to find a classic skirt, trendy tee or just a special brooch or clip for a gift.
What a great pub this is. Food menu that is a cut above, plenty of space with lounge, dining room, big beergarden and best of all the live music - we take the kids with their drawing books and games, park ourselves in the dining room, order food and kick back and listen to some of Melbourne's best live music. Home by kids bedtime. Heaven!
