I was born in South Africa, and for so many years i wished there was a shop with all the products i used to have when i was little. It's like a little supermarket. The best products that i buy are the tomato sauce chips, chocolate pro nutro porridge and biltong.
Sausage Rolls! Sausage Rolls! Sausage Rolls! Yum! Yum! Yum!
These are definately the best sausage rolls in Melbourne. I live in East Brighton and i drive 50minutes for my sausage roll fix. I am not kidding.
Approximate cost: $90cents
BEST Vegetable Pasties in Melbourne. Every time I think of this place i just have to have one! They are great to freeze and every time i go there i buy 10 just so i have some in stock in my freezer at home.
When we were building our house and landscaping our garden we bought a whole lot of stones for our garden. As the name suggests Rock and Stone has a great variety of quality architectural "rocks" and "stones". They also do a lot of great water features and bring in fantastic old pots from asia. The guys are extremely helpful for both large and small sales, and really know their stuff. If you're looking for a modern/japanese look to your garden this is the place to go.
This shop is a part of a complex called 'Extra Fresh' I only buy the fruit platters and ready made salads here when we have a party or big dinner. They are not that cheap but look great and save you lots of time choosing good fruit and having to cut it all up and present it nicely. They are really nice in here and will also deliver and cater for other party requirements if you need.
The best Thai food in the world... I live for Thaila Thai's chicken satays. I make my husband drive for an hour with our two kids screaming in the car just so I can get my Thaila's fix. In fact when we lived in Sydney for a year I made him bring take-away back on the plane!
The Thai Beef Salad is my favourite dish, it has a really tangy fish sauce over tomato, cucumber and better quality beef than you would expect in an affordable restaurant like this. The Pad Thai is also a must-have. We usually go there with a group of people and the dishes are so big you only need to order about 7-8 dishes for 10 people.
Approximate cost: $13
I first went to John as my OB for my first born. I was immediately at ease with his calm, encouraging demeanour. A lot of people I know don't say positive things about their obstetricians but I don't have a bad thing to say about John.
He has delivered both of our babies and made the effort to get into the hospital quickly.
On the whole this clinic is really good. We've seen many of the doctors here because we have two young kids and it's seems that one of them is always sick. They will always go out of their way to fit us in, especially if it's for the kids.
The doctors are quite pro-active and call you back to see how are you are going. Nearly all doctors have been good but they have had some new ones coming through lately which don't seem to be as experienced nor have the same dedication and manner as the long-term ones.
I have used Whirlwind for almost 10 years for low-cost 4-colour print jobs. The only reason I keep going back is the price! The service is absolutely disgraceful, they are one of the most disorganised companies you could come across.
Quite often my clients want to pay them directly rather than it going through me and this always ends in tears. Not only does the client pay but then Whirlwind send me an invoice too!! It happens every time.
The management must be pretty poor because they have very high staff turnover which means I'm always dealing with a different person. If I could find another company who delivered the same quality/price I would never use them again.
I am a Graphic Designer and I have used Matt for most of my printing jobs for the past 10 years. I have given him some tight deadlines over the years and he has always met them. He always works out the most cost effective way of getting the job done.
He is not the cheapest in town so if you want 500 business cards for $60 don't bother, but if you want quality spot colour or process print jobs you can't beat them.
