We sometimes need to call in quickly to Strathdale Pharmacy to pick up some prescription needs after we have done some shopping in the centre. While this is no doubt handy, I'm afraid I can't give this chemist a good rating. While the store is usually busy as can be expected for a shopping centre pharmacy, that is no excuse for the staff to treat customers as they have treated us.

On a few of our visits, the staff have been rude and made us feel like we are somehow inconveniencing them. I'm sorry, but I won't accept that. I find this a little troubling as other reviews tell a different story. Perhaps it may be the particular staff on duty when we have visited, so wewill give this store the benefit of the doubt on this occasion.

They do seem to have a decent product range, and their hours of business are convenient, but we have had better service elsewhere.

This review is for Dr. Michael McClatchey, Bendigo VIC

I was referred to Urologist Dr McClatchey by my GP after a routine prostate examination revealed it was enlarged.
After tests, I needed to have a biopsy done. The fear of cancer immediately confronted me, but the Doctors explanations and re-assurances helped a lot, and I felt much better about enduring this worrying process.

After the biopsy surgery performed by him on a Friday, I was scheduled for a visit with him during the week when the test results would be known. He telephoned on the Sunday to inform me my tests were clear much to my relief, and that I didn't have to attend another appointment. This impressed me greatly, being on low income and there were to be more out-of-pocket costs after the Medicare rebate, plus the fact he wanted me to know the good news as soon as possible to relieve my anxiety. Again, this was worth it's weight in gold that he went to this extra trouble for me.

If you have need of the services of a Urologist in Bendigo or surrounds, I highly recommend Dr. Michael McClatchey and keep in mind that you will need a referral from your GP. I will take this opportunity to urge all men to take a simple prostate test at your GP as it may well save your life.

Dr Botros has been my regular GP for a few years and I am quite happy with the medical services he has provided. After my first several visits, he then set up a health management plan for me to facilitate long term management of several ongoing health issues I have. This certainly takes the burden off remembering tests needed annually and the like, and the Doctor regularly reviews any issues listed on the management plan so nothing important is missed.

The only criticism I have is that when specialist referrals are needed, he has a tendency to choose the expensive ones, and need to be reminded that cheaper public options for people on pensions is desired. Other than that I consider that he is a good GP to have.

This is my local Pharmacy of choice and is located in front of the local medical practice - Lowndes Street Clinic, so that is handy in itself. The Pharmacist and staff are both friendly and professional and are always ready to help with advice on medications and general health matters. After a few visits, you will find you are on a first name basis with the staff, and this is nice and welcoming.

You can have them hold your regular prescriptions and phone ahead so you can then pick them up quickly with no waiting. There is also a rewards card, 'AMCAL Rewards' which accumulates points from other purchases from their extensive range of health and beauty products, supplements and gifts. The accumulated points come in handy to be used towards gifts for occasions such as Christmas and family birthdays.

Overall, this suburban Pharmacy has a lot of advantages over the large CBD and shopping centre stores with their hassle of parking and general lack of personal service which you will get when you visit Emily Roberts' AMCAL Pharmacy.

On the way back from shopping at the nearby ALDI, we stopped in for a cuppa and some lunch. They have a good selection of hot beverages and cakes. We tried the Chi Latte and a very tasty lasagna each. Very nice indeed, and service was prompt and with a smile. The shop is welcoming and well laid out with separate sections of product displays and tables and chairs to enjoy a cuppa, a snack or light meal in quiet surrounds. The prices are very reasonable, and the service is very good.

The range of low or no sugar products they have available is fairly comprehensive and well priced, and should suit most who want or need such products. The proprietors are friendly and have good product knowledge about what they have on offer. Also, they remembered us from a previous visit a few weeks ago which is a pleasant change these days.

There is plenty of off-street parking available, and this is a great spot to relax after a grocery shopping trip at the nearby supermarkets. Highly recommended.
