The owner is always so friendly and talkative. Yummy authentic thai dishes at reasonable prices. Prices used to be cheaper- have gone up quite a bit but still pretty competitive. Serving size always generous. Try the Pad thai and Crispy pork with broccoli.

It gets good reviews and if I was rating on convenience alone, it would get top marks but I was a bit disappointed. The dishes were heavily packed out with cheap bamboo shoots instead of fresh vegies, one dish we ordered had peanuts in it when they were not mentioned on the menu (while the kids were not having it, my daughter is highly allergic to peanuts so we dont order take away food with nuts in it).

I would rather jump in the car and drive 10 mins to One Thai in North Balwyn, much higher quality for the same price.

Great, authentic Thai. Love hot food but certainly weighs towards the high side so order appropriately. Always filled with Asian students so must be both good and great value.

They cooked authentic Thai food! The taste of the food is delicious. Once you tried Zab Thai, you will definitely want to go back again. For sure! The restaurant is not spacious. Limited seats, thats why most people prefer so take away. Many students come to this restaurant. Always busy. Suggest that if you want to have your dinner there, come in a bit early.

The best Thai take away in Melbourne. They used to have a shop in one of the arcade near Swinburne University at Glenferrie. I used to eat there a lot when I was still a uni student. Then one day they close their shop and no one knew where they've gone to. I have been craving for their food ever since.
Last year I found out from a friend that they've actually moved to Box Hill. I went straight to the shop the next day and been going there for dinner every 2 weeks. Every time I go there, I would always order "Crispy pork and Chinese Broccoli with Fried Egg". This dish is their signature/chef special, but it's not on their menu. So when you walk in, don't bother asking for their menu. Just order that dish and choose the level of spicyness- you can have mild, medium spicy or extra spicy. Myself, I always order extra spicy because I love chillies, can't live without chillies.
One advise though, if going there for dinner, do not go later than 6:30 PM. They get very busy after that time and some night might have to wait for more than 45 minutes for your food.
I am actually drooling while writing this review, I have got to go get my fix tonight. yes, i am a Zab junkie. LOL
