Stumbled across this place by accident and so glad we did. We had a lovely meal here with friends. Welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and beautiful food.

I recently came back from Japan and was hesitant when my friend invited me here. Nevertheless still a great place! Food was well made and restaurant was also very lively.

We've been here a few times for the 'eat all you can' dinner. It is really good value for money if you normally have a big appetite. Otherwise, you will end up very full because there are so many choices to choose from and the food is good. Having said that, the serving sizes are not too big so you can try many different dishes. It is usually very packed and quite noisy due to the teppanyaki sessions happening. Not a place to go if you're after ambient. The teppanyaki seems to be very popular too.

They are not really Japanese chef, food is okay but not great and for the price they charge probably a tad on the expensive side. I don't like it when the chefs play with food tossing, what a waste of food. He didnt seem to get it that we didn't want to play along.

This place was alright. But I do think it was a little bit expensive for its value. The chef was nice, but he wasn't breathtakingly amazing. The food was mediocre. It wasn't too delicious or special. Overall, I personally found this place a little bit overpriced.

My girlfriend and I went to Yamagata for dinner tonight and had the Tokyo Set Teppanyaki which started with an appetiser of Bean Shoots and Carrot in a Soy based sauce and followed by either Sushi and Sashimi or Chicken Yakitori.

We then started the Teppanyaki feast which was ably and humourously produced by Calvin with some pretty corny but funny jokes throughout the night. We started with Prawns and Scallops followed by Chicken and Beef. Then came the Mixed Vegetables followed by Fried Rice. Awesome meal and was delicious. The service was friendly but for the number of guests I thought that they could have done with another waiter/waitress. We also had a bit of a wait for the chef to start cooking but we enjoyed watching the chefs at other stoves. The night was filled with the usual theatre of Teppanyaki cooking and was great fun.

It was my girlfriend's first time having Teppanyaki and she loved it ... we will definitely be back.

Approximate cost: $50

Yamagata is a great place for Teppanyaki ..we have had a few celebratory dinners here & always enjoy it. Great fun! The staff make it a fun night ..tossing bowls of fried rice, slicing food at an amazing speed!! so clever! The prawns & fillet steak are just so good!

This is the Teppanyaki experience to perfection. If you want to catch food in your mouth, watch amazing culinary skills inches from your fingertips and nearly get your eyebrows singed by mouth watering barbecued calamari, then this is the place for you.

There are banquets to suit most budgets and all will fill your belly without an issue. The Teppanyaki Chefs are hilarious and very talented. Their skills will keep your tastebuds and eyes tantalised.

Make sure you wear something that can be stained because if you're lucky, or unlucky depending on your view, you could be made to catch rice or a raw egg from across the room!

Great fun. An awesome experience! Do it with a group of friends or family.

Approximate cost: $25+
