This is one of my favourite cafe's.. its a little reminiscent of the Black Cat Cafe in Fitzroy. For me this place is a bit of a Freo icon and I always feel a nice warm and fuzzy when ever I return home and walk done the lane and it's still there.
Relaxed vibe here, staff are usually always friendly and interesting. Just love hanging out here. I couldn't give five stars all around as the food and wine were both a tad of a miss on my last visit (more menu options please guys...), but honestly, still loved it!

I remember when this place used to be a tiny little cafe in Wray Ave a few blocks from its current location. Back then the coffee was great the service was fantastic and the food was tasty.

Unfortunately it has experienced the pitfalls of any business that expands: inconsistent quality and patchy service. Having said that though, depending on what barista and staff are working the coffee can be amazing and the service outstanding! There are a few staff that seem disinterested and act like they neither want or need your business, when they are on I usually just do a U-turn and go somewhere else.

This is still one of my favourite cafes in Fremantle and I am usually there at least once a week. The food is tasty but a little from my price range and they have a nice selection of biscuits and cakes. I'd love for them to have homemade juices but after hinting this for several years I should just give up :-)

The courtyard has a nice "vintage" feel and is well shaded and protects from all the elements and the outdoor heaters can make a miserable day just that little bit more bearable!

The have some kind of liquour licence but given that Freo Council destroys and bastardises any half decent application for a small business liquour license it means you have to sit and wait for your drinks and like I said the service can be patchy.

Definitely give this place a try!

I've heard about this place a few times, but always find it hard to find at night time, so we delighted when some friends took me here. The staff were a little disinterested in, which was a little disappointing, however the atmosphere was lovely, great change from the generic cafes. Coffee was great, but haven't tried the food.

XWray is a bar/restaurant hidden away in a little lane way in Fremantle. The decor is awesome vintage, the atmosphere is relaxed and the food and drink are good quality. I wish I lived closer so I could go here more often!

Great little hidden cafe in Freo. Pretty much typifies the Fremantle vibe - alternative. Not pretentious though. Great food, decor is inviting. An interesting menu, with good options for people with food allergies.

Approximate cost: $22
