I took my girlfriend there for her Birthday. I am 19 so going to a nice restaurant is a rare occasion for us. We had read about this place in the Sydney Good Food Guide and while spending our weekend in the Blue Mountains decided to give it a go. The venue is small and cozy, the freezing cold outside was left behind at the door. Hand written menus and comfortable seating made us feel comfortable, meals were thankfully generous and presented in the most beautiful manner. A place I will most certainly recommend for a romantic evening. More than likely preferable to small groups and all under $120 BYO helps keep the cost down and the friendly staff help keep the atmosphere warm.

vulcans is set in a an old bakery with the original oven still in place. it has seen better days than recent as it used to be one of the best restaurants in the blue mountains but i feel it has slipped down a lot lately. the service was pretty rude. the corkage is a ridculous $4 per person and the place is so noisy i left with a headache. overall the experience was average for a place that claims to have 1 hat. food is good but little comfort considering all else.byo

Approximate cost: $35
