I love this place. It is the place we stop in to pick up fruit on the way home from the coat, glass house mountains or other location where we have to drive down Steve Irwin Way.

Now the place is a little quirky, a lot of prices are not marked on the fruit and vegetables, and the service can be a bit odd, but that is part of the charm.

Pretty much everything that they sell is grown out the back of the place. They also sell imported Thai food (as it is run by Thai people). If you are ever at the Davies Park Markets in West End then they will also turn up there selling fruit and veg.

It is also a great place for cake, coffee, smoothies and home made pineapple crush made from home grown pineapples.

The cafe portion is located out the back in a lovely covered garden setting.

This "stall" is just fantastic. I used to drive from Buderim every fortnight especially to visit and became addicted to the fresh pineapple crush.

Had to relocate to Victoria 3years ago, but I won't forget my visits. Some great preserves also on sale. Yummy!

Vecchio's Fruit Stall is a long established locally run business on Steve Irwin Way. The term Fruit Stall is somewhat misleading because this shop is much more than a mere road side stall. Together with locally grown fruit and vegetables (the Cavendish Bananas I had were superb), Vecchio's also sells an extensive range of hot take away food. I haven't partaken of any so I can't attest to it's quality, although what I saw certainly looked enticing. At the side of the store is a shaded and nicely arranged alfresco dining area.

Vecchio's also grow their own strawberries and you can pick your own during strawberry season. In the dozens of times that I've driven past during the season I've always been amazed by the shaded picking apparatus. It reminds me of a field in Asia.

Last week trays of Mangoes were on sale for the extraordinarily good price of $15.00 per tray. It's worth the drive to Glass House Mountains for the mangoes alone!
