I went there with my husband for lunch during our day off after a walk around city area. Staffs there are very friendly and the food are nice and is not very expensive, average price. Very good location and convenience. We kind of enjoy it

The location makes this cafe a lovely place to have a bite. Food and coffee isn't bad, though I think the entire entry through the gallery/the ambient quality of the light makes this experience delightful.

This is a gorgeous location, views out over the Botanical gardens, lovely outdoor area on the balcony as well. Very hot day when I was there, so I sat inside, but would love to visit again and spend some leisurely time on that balcony!
I had scones with jam and cream, which was only $6.50 with a pot of tea, so I didn't find it overpriced at all. Noticed the prices of other cakes to be $8.50, if you had to pay for tea/coffee on top of this, I guess it would be a bit pricey.
Service was amazingly quick - I hardly had time to sit down before they were there with my order, and the staff were really, really friendly.
A free copy of the Herald to browse while I was eating was the icing on the cake! (I'm from Tassie, not used to the practice of the museums giving away free newspapers!)

Approximate cost: $6.50

The standout of this place is its location-the art gallery is a simply serene setting. The food was great, but overpriced. Service was rather quick.

Great options for gluten free customers which is hard to come by in Sydney. Great sandwich & soup specials. We had our family visiting & they relished the decent chance to sit down with a free paper & chomp into the simple delights.

Whether you are a lover of art or not, the cafe and restaurant in the NSW Art Gallery is a great place to be in. On top of that, you have the chance to see beautiful arts from all over Australia and the World. A visit to the cafe and restaurant of the gallery is a must. Ambiance is great and the food is great as well.

I took my girlfriend (now wife) to this restaurant to have lunch and meet my mother. It was a huge success! The venue was perfect. It has quite large with fantastic views of finger wharf and the service and food was great. Can't wait to return!
