The food was tasty but very overpriced for the serving size. I ordered 2 vegan dishes delivered and both containers were only half full! Spent $45 on food that left me still hungry, very disappointing! Total waste of money...wont be eating from there again!

Approximate cost: $45

This place was pumping when I visited but they still had great service. The San Choi Bao was decent but the beef pho really stole the show, it was amazing!

OK tip # 1 try the pho soup. It is massive so you probably wont need anything else. So tasty you will come back just for the soup.

The food is lovely.

The sercice is personal. They have fitted us in countless times and always been delightful.

So many different people end up at Trangs its nice to sit in the buzz and eat what every yummy food you have ordered. The also have BYO wich is perfect!

While this venue isn't going to win awards for ambience or decorating, the simple setting helps to keep costs low. And there must be something good about it because every time I've come here, there is always a wait for a table.

Food is Vietnamese/Chinese but without fail I think it's the Vietnamese that brings people in. Fresh rice paper rolls (roll your own or have the kitchen do it) and pho (beef soup) are the clear crowd pleasers. I always like the horfun here too (flat rice noodles). If you're in the mood for something to drink as well, the lemon soda water (homemade) is delicious. It is also BYO and there is a bottle shop just down the road.

For a busy restaurant, the wait staff do a fairly good job getting around to everyone in a timely manner. It's not fine dining but if you're after something warm, filling and delicious for decent prices in a friendly atmosphere, this is the place.

Approximate cost: $12

Trang is located in the local Chinese/Vietnamese/Malaysian food strip in West End but I think it has one of the strongest reputations out of the lot. We came here for dinner having heard great things about their pho.

It was a good sign that people were being asked to wait 5-10 min for a table when we got there, something we would have been happy to do had we not booked - it's BYO and there is a bottleshop a few doors down, so it's a good way to kill that time.

Their menu is a bit of a fusion of Vietnamese and Chinese, which I can be a bit wary of but our beef noodle soup was delicious and came with all the traditional trimmings, such as basil, chilli, bean shoots etc. It's fantastic value, you get a bowl the size of your head for only $10. Our mixed entree was delicious too.

The only small problem was that we asked our waitress after we were seated if we could pop down and grab some alcohol before we ordered; she assured us it was okay. We were gone for 5 min max and when we came back there were another couple at our table. I felt like a pretty big jerk having to tell the waitress who was seating people (not our initial waitress, so obviously there had been a breakdown in communication). We were admonished for leaving without saying anything, and despite us telling her we had in fact informed someone, she just seemed annoyed. Maybe fair enough, but we wouldn't have left if we'd been told it wasn't a good idea.

Don't let that put you off, that was partly our fault. Definitely recommend it for cheap and delicious Vietnamese.

The food here is great value. I love the grilled pork - very tasty and generous portions (comes with quite a few sides).

It won't blow your mind if you have high expectations, but it's reliably good, great value Vietnamese. One of the best in Brisbane.

I used to love this place.. I dunno what happen in the past one year but the quality totally dropped... the pho used to be my fav in the whole of brisbane but now its not even tasty...
Now i find them only good enough for the Caucasians customers.. as their food has lost a lot of traditional authenticity.

Approximate cost: $14

had to wait for some time to be seated because there were a lot of customers, but i figured that's because the food is good. portions were quite generous and staff were pretty efficient. quick service too.

Approximate cost: $10

Always crowded, this place does great tasting food at dirt bottom prices. I've had a variety of Vietnamese cuisine around Brisbane, and this is unwavering one of the best. The only let down is its limited size, acoustics (gets really noisy) and possibly its unrenovated state. If you don't mind plastic tablecloths and melamine crockery, this could be a winner. Closed Mondays.
