We have been coming here for years. The food has always been fresh and fabulous and cheap. The decor is much nicer these days compared to 15 odd years ago ( but so it should be). My favorite is still the Mongolian lamb. The fried ice cream is a nice way to end the meal. It's great to see things are still pretty much the same here and I'll definitely be frequenting this place more often these days.

Wandered down Victoria Street and in to Tran Tran. A beautifully presented space with amazing food. From the bean curd soup, to the duck with mushrooms and veggies, to the excellent ice cream with lychee and rambutan, the entire evening was a brilliant experience! Relaxing, simple decor, beautiful table settings and beautiful food: all yo be had at a very reasonable price. If you're after Vietnamese food in a beautiful setting, Tran Tran is the place to be!
Approximate cost: $15.00
The best Vietnamese restaurant ever! The service is friendly and extremely fast, the food is low priced and incredibly tasty, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We always leave there with a full belly and a smile on our faces.
My favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Melbourne - freshest ingredients prepared in authentic style, unbelievably fast food service (even when the restaurant is totally packed, which is very often indeed), friendly and efficient waiting staff and the owners are always happy and cheerful. The food is consistently good, regardless of when we visit.
The new decor is clean and welcoming, and even has noise-absorbing panels on the walls to dampen the cheerful sound of happy diners. Check out the amazing original vaulted ceiling!
Approximate cost: $18
The atmosphere is lovely as the service is very respectable. The menu is detailed and the dishes are perfect everytime you dine. The staff are well mannered and the speed of service is astonishing.

A friend took us to Tran Tran, and we've been going back ever since. The service is always warm, and the food delicious! We especially love the spring rolls and usually have serious difficulties trying to decide what to have for mains. For dessert, the fried ice cream is a must!
Approximate cost: $20
Tran Tran is my favourite Vietnamese restaurants on Victoria St, and I visit quite regularly. It's very casual, often quite busy, and a great place to catch up with friends for a fun, tasty and informal dinner.
The highlights for me are in the entrees - the beef wrapped in vine leaves, the Vietnamese coleslaw chicken are my favourites and are outstanding. There are also the expected dumplings, spring rolls etc. to keep everyone happy. You can't go wrong in the entrees.
The mains are less exciting, but are generally tasty and good value. The best way to go is to get a few things and share. There is a small but nice range of desserts - if someone in your group has a birthday, ask for the special "Banana Birthday Cake"...just be warned, it's not one for prudes!
The restaurant is licensed with a good range of very well-priced beers and wine, and also allows BYO, which means Tran Tran is a great place for kick-starting a night on the town!
This restaurant is very consistent - the food is always delicious and I've never had a bad time there!
Approximate cost: $9-18
