The Tin Pot has terrific coffee and a great range of other drinks. I love their ginger tea. :) This is a very relaxed venue in the heart of Fitzroy North. It's a good venue for breakfast or lunch and appropriate for kids as well.

Most memorable thing is the chocolate mousse. Best I've ever had. All of the food is satisfying and fresh.

The table service is adequate and reasonably quick. The cafe is comfortable and spacious.

The Tin Pot has become somewhat of a tradition for my friend and I - we are both completely addicted to their BLT - the most amazing homemade sauce on it, it is to die for........
Great funky atmosphere, I love it

Great on a Sunday for Breakfast/Brunch or Lunch. The service is very slow, but in a way this is part of the appeal. It makes you relax.

We're new to Fitzroy North from Brisbane and wandered into this little gem just to get out of the cold. It has some nice spots to look out at the street so we could watch the people without freezing! The waitress wasn't fantastic but the food was amazing! Being from Brizzy we were stoked with the menu because it was all different from our usual cafes; lamb's pie, winter soup... it was delish, very Victorian flavors. I've been back three other times now... each time the food was great, esp. on the weekend when the better chef is making breakfast. The Salmon Florentine is perfect. The stewed fruit (another thing you never see in Briz) is a must do... rhubarb and poached pears with amazingly fresh strawberries... I could go on! The service is sometimes great sometimes crap... once we got up and left because they took to long to bring our menu's. I'm definitely going to make myself a regular even so.

I've had some lovely breakfasts here..salmon with poached eggs, hollandaise sauce.. bloody fantastic on a hangover.
I had a terrible spill (or at least my 6 year old son did) last time we were there. Hot chocolate went all over me, all over the table and hurtled on to the floor. It was pretty spectacular! I was quite prepared to clean up this mess myself, but was very rudely brushed off by the extremely sour waitress who made a huge show of mopping up with all the accompanying "hmmph" noises you can imagine.
She wouldn't let me do it. It was all quite humiliating. She did not offer a cloth to dry my self. It was not a gracious way to deal with the situation. Anyway, I would go back, maybe minus the kid!

Approximate cost: $15

I think I know which girl it would have been, she really needs an attitude shift; she brings the vibe down! I'd take my boy next time, don't let her bitchiness ruin it for you.. there's always heaps of kids there. Maybe tell the guys about it.. they really should do something about her moods.

The Tin Pot is fantastic for breakfast. Great food, big servings & relatively quick service if you are in there early. Try the berry porridge or the french toast. The coffee is sensational too. Recently they have started serving dinner, which unfortunately doesn't really compare to breakfast - we won't be going back for dinner, but will continue to visit every weekend for brunch.

Approximate cost: $8-$12
