For the holidays, I went to Perth to visit the other side of my family, and this place was the site of a large family dinner.

I had the chicken breast with polenta and spinach, which was absolutely delicious. Others had the fish and chips and pasta dishes, but I wasn't too focused on their stuff, as I was too busy devouring my own and drinking the lovely wines.

The menu is not cheap, but the quality of the food reflects the pricing, and the staff were wonderful. The decor is excellent and if you live in the area and haven't tried the Whistling Kite, I recommend experiencing the laid back elegance and tasty food!

I found at the Flying Kite the meal was lovely, but have taken some things off to add others, which was a little down fall for me, but overall it was good

Approximate cost: $25

Just had Lunch again at the Whistling Kite and as usual the food was pretty good. This is our "Local" and we like to support local business. Atmosphere is always friendly. The kite is a bit more upmarket than other pub meals but worth it. Will continue our support.

Approximate cost: $26

Really like the feel of this place, it has a funky and cool vibe. Decor is very modern and trendy. They have a DJ playing on Saturday nights to add even more funkiness to this bar. I found the food to be ok but portion sizes were quite small. I ordered the fish and it was small and came with no sides.

I went there for a friend's birthday dinner. I was designated driver. I ordered calamari. It tasted a bit funny, but I soldiered on anyway. Within 1.5 hours, my head was in the toilet bowl. Something was not right. I let the waitstaff know that it had upset my stomach, in case there was something wrong with it or the way it had been handled. The waitstaff didn't even offer me a glass of water. I struggled to drive home with the stomach cramps and nausea. The food was overpriced.

Approximate cost: $30
