Beware the large dark grey BalconyLite Troughs. Bought 7 of them through a landscaper and planted by same landscaper. They are actually black in colour and lasted about 6 months before calcification, bulging and crumbling of outer skin at the bottom of the pots became apparent. Calcification very noticeable against the black colour. The crumbling outer skin of course comes off if you move the pots and to top it off according to Urban Balcony, moving the pots once they are planted is not part of normal use.

Approximate cost: $2300

I purchased five lightweight pots for my terrace courtyard. They look fantastic and are really easy to move around. A great alternative to traditional pots.

Urban Balcony's website is very well designed. I got a phone call from them about two days after I had placed the order and the product was delivered about two days after that. They were very friendly and everything was in excellent condition.

Each pot was on average about $90 but there is a free delivery charge if your order is over $200 in Sydney metro area so I saved some money that way.

Approximate cost: $500
