Love the shingle in. Only been here once as I was visiting the shopping centre. BUt called in and had a toastie and a coffee with a friend. It was her treat. It's a great little cafe. Prime location. Staff were friendly and lots of customers.

I have always enjoyed Shingle Inn but I guess not every store is the same... This one serve really yucky big breakfast.. The simple toast is burnt and they served that!! It was black and hard rock! Service was rude, especially when I tried to claim my entertainment book voucher. If you do not like that, then dun take part in the promotions!

Approximate cost: $17

I used to be a very regular customer at the original Shingle Inn in the city and was excited to see the one at Indooroopilly. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The service is terrible and I have never been served with a smile once. Some of the mums from school like meeting there but we are disappointed each time. I took my children there for a special treat (like my mum used to take me!) and the cakes and biscuits were not fresh. The cupcake was so hard we couldn't cut it and when I requested a new one, she grudgingly gave me another - which was exactly the same!

I don't mind paying the bit extra if it is worth it - but this place is so not which is unfortunate for the Shingle Inn name.

The food and coffee here is fine, however I used to go there a lot but have stopped going there because I found the service to be consistently terrible. The most annoying thing is that they never seem to clear the tables. The last time we went there, my husband and I sat down at a table that had leftover food etc on it, assuming it would be cleared, however the staff just ignored it until I actually went to the counter and asked them to clear it. They did so, but I got the impression they were put out about it. We haven't been back since, nor will we be. It's very cramped inside and always seems to be full of prams. To be honest, I wouldn't recommend it.

A day of shopping can be tiring, & there's nothing better than sitting down & enjoying a moment with a coffee & cake. Their cakes are absolutely wonderful (especially their chocolate mud cakes), & they also do some lovely savoury meals if you are looking for a sit down lunch. They can be a little pricey, but once you taste their food, it is all worth it.

This is a great place to meet friends for coffee or to have a break form shopping. I prefer it to other cafe's at Indooroopilly as there is alot of spacet. I usually have a pram with me and there is ample room, without being in anyone elses way. It is not noisy and the cakes are delicious!
