Purchased a voucher to tried some kind of keratin and colour treatment. Don't ever go there no matter how cheap or good the voucher sound! The place was dirty, hair everywhere, chairs were stained with dye, towels do not look clean. The so called hairdresser, or school drop outs were rude, useless, unprofessional. Never had a keratin done before, but it had to be the worse hair straighten method. Was asked to wait at the sink with my head back for like forever, I nearly hurt my back bending like that! Then they basically just used straightener like home, I was worried about them burning me! the girl who blow dry my hair nearly burn my head and hair since she was too busy checking her bum out at the mirror! When it was hurting I said ouch and she just gave me a dirty look and continue to pull my hair to dry! Colour job was like a home job, I could have done a better job! And they demanded I have to purchased their hair products as the keratin treatment needs it, what a bunch of cons!!! Lucky the shampoo and conditioner was nice and actually did a better job than those useless people at the salon! DON'T EVER GO TO THIS SALON FOR ANYTHING!

i bought a groupon voucher for foils and a cut - had to wait months for an appointment (to be expected) and when i finally got there i waited for an hour before anyone saw me (again they were REALLY busy)... but once i got some attention the hairdresser gave me one of the best cuts i have had in ages and i am looking to go back now - well done girls, and let it be a lesson to you that there are some really horrible people out there, its no reflection on your business, it simply reflects on what catty people they are, and they treat everyone else with the same level of rudeness as they do you

I've now been to this hair dressers 3 times and will have booked for my 4th time. I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews for this business! These girls are BUSY all the time (great sign!) and yes the phone may be hard to get through on and appointments may be hard to get but that's also a good sign! I've had colours, straightens, conditioning treatments, cuts and even had my hair curled there for my daughters engagement party and i've always left there happy. The place is very busy but the girls are always helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. I book my next treatment before i leave there and that way there's no problem getting a booking. An last but not least the prices are fantastic value for money.

Great to hear positive review :-)

Great for blow waves and basic colour treatments, but if you're after anything more complicated, forget it. Had been going there for sometime, but the difficulty in making appointments (due to phones not being answered), and the long waiting times once you actually get to there, have put me off for good. The great level of service they provided when they first opened is long gone.

I'm keeping this short because I have already written a huge complaint on another website and it amazingly got deleted. Isn't it funny how only the good reviews remain on some sights? The Secret Hair Code should be shut down! They store all of their dryers and straighteners on the floor, which for starters is an OH&S issue. They do not clean any of their brushes. My main issue is that I now have blue streaks in my hair. I wanted an all over colour of light brown, so the 'colourist' told me she would have to put blue over the lighter bits so the brown would stick. I now have jet black hair with lovely blue streaks in it. My only option is to strip my beautiful long hair that will completely damage it. I got my money back from the site I bought the voucher off, but more importantly, I need to tell everyone what a huge mistake you will be making even going to this place for a simple thing. I am in the process of trying to get them investigated and shut down.

I went to The Secret Hair Code with a Cudo keratin treatment voucher. This was a 30th birthday gift from my sister. I was so excited as I have had frizzy, curly hair for most of my life. When I got there they washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo (or so they said) and left it on for about 10 mins then rinsed it out. They then blow dried my hair and applied what they said was the keratin solution. As I didn't see the bottle at all and saw no other signage in the salon I have no idea what it was they actually used.

They left that on for one hour and then began blow drying my hair. It looked to me exactly the same as my hair normally looks and I thought that was strange. I asked if that was it and she said that they would straighten it next. I then asked why it was still frizzy and curly after the blow drying and was told it would get better in 3 days. I was told not to wet it for 3 days and to straighten it day and night for those 3 days as it is heat activated. Apparently me straightening it was going to get the results I paid for, yeah right! I was also told I could not tie it back or put it behind my ears for 3 days.

So she finished straightening it which was extremely quick, just like an ordinary straighten I get when having my hair coloured. Except it didn't look at all different, in fact I have had much better results from other salons when no 'keratin solution' was used.

I was told that I MUST buy their brand of shampoo or else the keratin would wash out within 2 washes. After looking at the Elixir 79 brand they recommended I asked them why there was no keratin in it. They told me oh it's the same stuff as what we put on your hair, it's really great and gets rid of frizz. I was feeling very uncertain but was still holding out some hope that perhaps it would work. It contains sodium which should NOT be used in keratin treated hair as that is what strips it out!.

I followed their instructions even though I knew it was fruitless. After four days my hair is back to it's usual curly self. I haven't used their shampoo as I am trying to get my money back on it. It seems to me they have no idea of the correct keratin process, and just make it up on the day!

I would really like to know what it was they put in my hair, and try to get a refund on the shampoo/conditioner. I also feel my sister deserves a refund as the service advertised was NOT provided, so far Cudo are refusing but we will not give up. I have tried almost 15 times in the last 3 days to contact them but it is either engaged or it rings out!!

I am overall so angry and bitter at the Secret Hair Code. I believe they should be stopped, they are blatantly ripping people off. Not to mention the salon was filthy and the brushes were full of hair.

My advice to others looking for a good keratin deal, do your research on the salon first if you can, or save up and pay full price. Whatever you do, do not go to the Secret Hair Code!!

Like many others, I too had read the bad reviews on this site but decided to go and see for myself. Best thing I ever did!! I went in with a voucher for balayage and I couldn't be happier with the result. The service these girls provide is amazing!! They were under the pump but that didn't stop them from being lovely and warm to all of their customers. I have my hair done regularly and honestly - I've never been pampered like this before! Don't believe everything you read - go and try it for yourself. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

I used a Groupon voucher here for a cut and all over colour. All up I was in the salon for 3 1/2 hours and the stylist said they weren't busy that day. The whole place looked quite dirty. The chair was white with lots of stains on it. I must have looked at it in disgust because she then said to me, don't worry, it's only hair dye. I seemed to be left sitting around while the colour was developing for a very long time while they were shuffling me between the chair, the lounge, the basin and back to the chair. The end result was ok, but i certainly wouldn't go there again. I would recommend that you pay a bit extra to go somewhere else.
