1 review about The Salvation Army Family Stores

It was a hot day and the store was so hot and stuffy that outside felt cooler. It was uncomfortable and hard to concentrate. The pricing was all over the place: inconsistent in my opinion. The secondhand furniture was good quality but varied from cheap to a bit high. I object strongly to goods that obviously have been donated sold at a high price and especially when they haven't been sold because they are unsaleable in normal shops. If it was an unpopular colour or style or size, or just in excess before donation how does being in an op shop make it more marketable? Being touted for a standard retail price is silly, and greed.
On the plus side it is nice to have a book browsing area where the potential buyer can sit and read. Mostly the layout is quite good. The staff seem approachable and pleasant.

I am hearing you loud and clear Eugeniaz1, prices are indeed inconsistent. I still cannot get over the price of a couch that was tagged at a local Salvos for $1, 500-!!! I am left wondering who is supposed to afford such an outlay, as this is, after all a 'secondhand charity' shop. I recently overheard a recent conversation whereby a customer enquired about layby however she was informed that their prices were so affordable that layby was not necessary. Obviously this excluded the $1, 500- couch, the $700- vase and various other items that continue to retain such exorbitant price tags. One is left wondering about such things. Reeces
