Beautiful pub. Staff are fantastic and precise. Food is magnificent and not too badly priced. It looks clean and inviting, a place I would have a dinner function for a birthday or work do. Its comfortable and a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy your meal in or even a nice relaxing drink.

i have dined here about 4 times and although the food is beautiful, it seems to differ alot in quality. but i still come back as it really is an old lovley pub

Beautifull antique building, good old fashioned service..Great Parma!! The hotel is set opposite Port Phillip bay with the best views on the Peninsula. I cant wait to get back down there in summer.

Fantastic!!!! This would have to be the best pub type restaurant I have ever eaten at!!! The food was amazing, the service was outstanding and the prices were very reasonable! We had a table of 5 and everybody enjoyed the meals thoroughly! The building itself is quite old and could do with a bit of a renovation, but it didn't matter at all!

Impressed with our waitress, she was great and tried hard to fix a lost order. The food was very disappointing. From our table of 20, the verdict overall was ordinary at best. My chicken parmigiana was too heavily crumbed (not home made I"d guess) and tasted of stale/rancid oil; the chips tasted the same and were cold and soggy. Side salad not too fresh and basic. Hard to attract people for return visits based on this standard of food.

UPDATE SEPT 13: We went back to the Royal in Sept 13 after hearing of new management. I'm delighted to say it was excellent. Although it was a quiet Monday, pouring rain outside there was still good atmosphere inside.

The back bar looked cosy with an open fire, but we decided to go through to the main dining area at the front. Both staff members who looked after us were friendly and professional and the food top quality (bonus of Classic meals $20 on Monday night).

Boring I know, but I had the chicken parmigiana again and it was perfect this time. The dressing on the salad was a bit too sweet but everything else including my husband's fish and chips was delicious. We're looking forward to going back.

perfect setting for a romantic getaway/wedding. Grab a room upstairs and sit out on the balcony and sip a lovely peninsula wine and take in the breathe taking views of the ocean.....
