I recently bought a beautiful tub of honey from The Honey Shoppe, and was SO sad when my housemates ate most of it!!
I can understand their appetite - the honey was so complex, flavoursome and fragrant, not like other supermarket-chain honies.

But seeing the empty pot, just a month after I bought it, was so sad!
If you like real, beautiful, delicious honey, without the bland taste that comes from bees being fed from glucose, rather than naturally feeding from flowers.... then THIS is the place for you!

Perhaps your housemates will buy another pot as they liked it so much

The honey shoppe stocks medicinal honey and speciality honey from all over South Australia. If you've not tried Kangaroo Island bee sanctuary honey, I recommend it; it has a distinctive, hard to explain taste that makes it fabulous to go with a cup of tea.

Lots of the honey which you buy in supermarkets is farmed by giving the bees lots of sugars to convert to honey, and the result is very sugary and dull tasting. But honey taken from bees which have collected the bulk of the product from real flowers, has the most distinctive and fragrant of tastes.
That's why the honey shoppe and soapbox is so popular!

This place also stocks all manner of ecologically friendly, fragrant and beautiful soaps, hand washes, toothpastes and the like. I'm going to try some of the shampoo soon!

ps: bring your own container and save $$$ (and landfill space).

I always get honey from here, as well as coconut oil. The shop smells amazing and the products are well priced, especially if you buy in bulk and bring your own container.

Also good for supplies if you make your own beauty products.

If you love honey then this is the place to go to. It has all types of fresh and jarred honey, and usually has a special honey of the week. This week it is Yapunya Honey from Northern Queensland on special for $6.50 a kg. It also stocks popular brands such as Sugar Gum, Mallee Murray etc. The store has soap as well and is just another treasure in the central market precinct.
