Always wanting to find a new little place to fill my caffeine needs. Went here with high expectations. Purchased my sons first babycino, had the cameras set....it was scalding hot, was served in a paper espresso cup (impossible for a child to handle) and had NO foam with sprinkles on top....which made the milk grey! Our coffee was just as hot...too hot. Was sooo dissappointed by our experience...will not go back and to make matters worse the cake selection was pretty poor.

The barista should know better to make a scalding hot drink ... Let alone for a childs babycino!! I will keep this into mind into future to check the temperature before giving the drink to my child!

Great review - having reviewed this place and visited a few times it is frustrating how inconsistent they are - very disappointing that they could have harmed your little one with a drink that was too hot. Thanks for sharing. PS if you find a good place in Mernda - please review so we can take out business there instead.

A great place to go for coffee and cake ! I went in with my baby last week and the staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and just generally customer focused. The latte and slice were lovely - the latte hot (not lukewarm as at many places - a real pet peeve of mine), and the slice obviously fresh. The staff understand that the customers come first, and engage you in conversation, which is wonderful - (I am new in town so its nice to feel welcome) A great "small town" sort of feel at The Glen. Would recommend for afternoon tea, coffee with the ladies, or a quick take-a-way for anyone.
**Unfortunately I am adding a not so positive 2nd review of the Glen. I returned with my in laws last weekend for lunch and was very surprised at the difference in service and quality on the weekend. There was a mistake made in one of our orders - when it was pointed out the server made the excuse that "there was a mistake made between the register and the kitchen" no apology, no offer to make it right. She couldn't have cared less. One member of our group had his meal a full 10 minutes before the rest of us - again we mentioned this to the server - she wasn't interested. I had the pumpkin soup which was flavourless and only one side of bread was given although two soups were ordered and paid for. The only upside was the coffees were very good. The cost was $75 for the four of us - for poor service, frozen, processed chicken parma and terrible service. What an embarrassment - I won't be returning on the weekend that's for sure! Too bad - the service and quality during the week have always been superb when I visit.**

Approximate cost: $6

The food at The Glen is amazing - reasonably expensive, good size serves, and always fresh. The staff make it a pleasant experience, as does the choice of indoors, on street, or courtyard dining.
