The Duke of Wellington is a pub which serves a great cup of coffee as well as delicious food. Starving one day at work, I decided to head down to the Duke for a mid-afternoon meal.
I ordered some delicious chicken nibbles as an entrée. It had a nice spicy sauce which made the dish delectable. I then had a steak with vegetables which was the icing on the cake. I was craving a dose of iron and the steak didn't disappoint!
The staff are friendly and quite courteous. Highly recommend the Duke for a coffee and/or a meal.
A really good classy city pub.
Excellent location as well.
Everything you would expect from a pub is on the menu and done with their own personal twists. Think Mac & Cheese with king crab, Coca Cola glazed Gippsland lamb ribs or more classics like Yorkshire pudding, parmas and tasty chips.
The restaurant is upstairs and serviced by an upstairs bar. What really bothered me was the lack of service, or rather indifferent/rude service. You are not shown to your table, orders are made at the bar by a bar person who is rushed and perhaps rude etc.
I came here because it's a part of a membership benefit program that I'm associated with through work. Really liked it. Prices were good and it was very busy, but service wasn't slow. Bit loud, but we didn't mind. the 25% total bill discount will get me back
A institution which has recently had a makeover. The Duke is now very modern and fresh.
It's a good place to relax and have some casual drinks with friends. It does get busy on thurs/fri nights.
A great atmosphere. I prefer the slightly more classy feel of the upstairs bar.
i personally like the fact that it's called the duke of wellington lol
