I've promised myself to have African food again after my first try at another place. 'The Cutting Table' impressed me again! Everything meets above standards. I'm definitely having African again!

I really liked this place. To begin with, African cuisine eateries are harder to find in inner city Melbourne. And those that do exist, are often quite traditionally African. This place offers dishes that pay homage to African cuisine, but also recognizes contemporary tastes and offers some variety to the african staple way eating.
Highlights of our experience were the Ugali Chicken Stack (marinated chicken fillet served on african grilled polenta with salad & condiments - $12), Afircan plate (injera covered plate topped with african stew, salad and rice - $12), Egyptian burger (Fava bean burger with free-range egg, fetta cheese and vegetables/salad & condiments - $12).
Food quality was great. Serving sizes were very generous. Service levels were high.
