Lovely atmosphere and fascinating to watch the staff preparing our meals in the open kitchen. The restaurant was relatively quiet when I went there.

The pasta is homemade and tastes very authentic and the pizzas are cooked in a wood fired oven.
Amazing tiramisu . . . it was to die for! I ordered an extra serving takeaway for the next day.

Our waitress was very friendly and offered suggestions when some of us weren't sure what to order. We had a longish wait for our meals but I think that is to be expected when they are cooking meals from scratch.

I called in today and noticed that they have changed coffee and a new coffee machine, the results are great, it what was missing. So another good coffee place on Rathdowne street.

They have also added a chill out area at the front , great for coffee and catch up on email.

Have enjoyed the numerous visits for breakfast, coffee and lunch. Sal and Barbara are really nice people, passionate about what they do. They even went out shopping just to ensure I had what I wanted without me making any fuss, it was so humbling and sweet.

The place has a Great ambiance and the food overall is wonderful. I have been lucky enough to have good service every time but I like grazing so for me its an all evening experience which I like. If your in a hurry..perhaps try la porchetta down the road with far more inferior food. Sal the owner is a wonderful host if you give him a chance.

This was meant to be a nice sunday lunch with family. Instead the service was very average. 45 minutes for a main course, had to ask for bread, then one family members order was forgotton totally. Pizza's were burnt.

The food is very good authentic Calabrian food. And their menu is quite extensive. However, the food comes out very slowly on some evenings and on occasions, the kitchen can be distracting. There is often shouting going on in the open kitchen which sometimes spoils the otherwise wonderful atmosphere.

After reading the reviews and being a very frequent visitor to the resturant i have to say this is the best Italian food you will get. If you have read about the poor service i must sadly say it's all true. HOWEVER just the other day i was informed the the manager (after i asked why i hadn't seen one or two of the waiting staff in a while) on one of my many lunches there that the problematic waiters have been sacked. However all that aside. if you want a resturant that provides Very high quality food and pizzas with a lovely atmosphere and a calm non rushed environment its definately the go.

Approximate cost: $30

My husband and I first found this restaurant when we had to feed our two teenage nephews, and were very pleasantly surprised by its interesting ambience, wine list and home style food, including fabulous wood-fired oven dishes. We have since returned several times with friends and family, and have always enjoyed the meal, even though the service is rather hit and miss. Pizzas are excellent and traditional, and you can ask for what you want. The specials are often woodfired oven dishes like slow roasted goat or porchetta, and well worth trying.
The wait staff are mainly students which may explain the problematic service - however, we get around that by simply being a little loud and assertive and waving our arms a lot!
