I didn't like the food here, it was hard to eat and very small portions. After buying food for 4 of us and some wine the bill was very high, and we left hungry.

Expensive spanish restaurant for food that can sometimes be hit and miss. croquettes good, pork hock nice but needs more lettuce leaves. tostadas are also really well balanced and light.

I have never been able to get a table inside though, for some reason always very booked

While the food here was really delicious, the service left A LOT to be desired. To be fair, I think we had a new staff member serving us (or not) and by the time the manager noticed how long we were waiting for everything, they took over (not an easy task considering how busy they were). Despite this, the evening was fun and the number of customers suggests how good Black Toro usually is. I'd love to come back and try my luck a second time, because the food was really well cooked and full of flavour.

I love Spanish tapas but was left fairly underwhelmed by the black toro. We ordered as specified to do so by the menu, 4-5 entrees and a main to share. All lacked the taste sensation we looked for and were highly over priced.
Sliders, croquettes, flautus, chicken ribs.
Sliders nice but small for price, croquettes tasted too much of cheese, flautus not as I've had them in past, wrong pastry, ribs tasted of oil.

The pork hock main was the only good part of the meal with a nice balance of flavours, wish we had more lettuce leaves to eat with only got four.

We enjoyed the service and atmosphere but will not be coming back for the food.

I'd received great reviews about this Spanish Tapas restaurant so thought I'd give it a go and I wasn't disappointed at all.
The service was brilliant, the waiters were very attentive.
The menu isn't huge however, provides about 15 different tapas of two to three serves then there are about 7 mains and desserts to choose from. The deconstructed peanut butter cheesecake is a must try! You'd be more than satisfied between two people trying three to four tapas. The drinks menu is also extensive and they have a lovely bar set up.
The crockery is also very nice as well as how the restaurant has been fitted out, so trendy yet relaxed.
You will definitely need to book in advance as it's very popular, it was booked out when I was there. Give it a try!

Approximate cost: $25
