The best bakery in the area. Has been around for years and every time I'm walking around warrandyte I stop here. It is right next to the kids playground and you can even take your lovey pies and drinks down by the Yarra for a scenic walk. Would definetly recommend.
I make a stop here every time I visit mum. Its a tiny little shop that stock's so much. You go in one door make your order and pay at the other end. The staff are always helpful and friendly even though they are run off their feet and thats really nice to see, as so many get incredibly grumpy if they are kept busy, But Not in here, I've never struck a grumpy staff member.
I Love their Sourdough Bread it would have to be the best Ive had.
Last time I was there we had a strawberry tart that was amazing, covered in a strawberry jelly over the top of beautiful pastry filled with creamy custard on top of the custard was the strawberries and a few crisp fresh purple grape's, It was just divine. We also took with us some fruit mince tarts that were the best i've had, being from an english background myself these are a tradition at our place for christmas, so I know where I'll be going to get mine this year, so I hope they will post them to me?
There's always heaps of people in there, they do the coffee and cake thing as well also having a coffee card like everyone has these days.
There's some parking, but its always hard to find one at anytime in Warrandyte. Table's outside some under cover, but there are so many tree's anyway. The river runs alongside the car park, there is a playground for the kids.
Their price's are all reasonable, everything is always fresh and they do take order's if needed.
You may have to wait a short time, but with this bakery the wait is worth it every time, Also I've never had to wait very long.
A great bakery!!
An excellent spot backing onto the yarra and next to a playground, the bakery is a great spot for lunch and coffee.
Good Pies!! Nice and fresh cakes and good coffee.
The seating arrangements suit the environment (easy going/ laid back etc) but not great for poor weather. Tables outside can be wet/ have bird poop on occasionally but really not bad enough to deter a stop in there.
They use recycled items such a serviettes (new - you know what i mean) which makes my happy.
A really great range of hot savory items and baked goodness treats at more than reasonable prices.
sounds lovely! I will keep in mind this bakery for a future trip!
Unique and delightful location down by the Yarra river.
But they don't take undue advantage of the location, by unnecessarily trading off visitor traffic or elvating prices.
The baked goods themselves can always be relied upon being fresh and delicious, with a slight artisan-rustic appearance. Pies, plain/filled breads etc.
I have been to this lovely bakery at Warrandyte and the smells that come from the shop are simply devine. If you go on a weekend prepare to have to wait.
Great little pie shop down by the Yarra River. The food is AMAZING but unfortunately there always seems to be a long line because its so popular
The BEST meat pies i have ever tasted. So yummy i could eat two or more if i could. Great place for a tasty Aussie pie. Cant wait to go back there!
Approximate cost: $4.00
Beesting is lovely. Like the vegetarian sausage rolls - actually ricotta and spinach rolls. Chai lattes are pretty good unless you get the lady who makes them really, really strong! Lemon tart is pretty good although some cream would be nice. Muffins could be better. Great that they sell reuseable coffee cups. Is particularly great place since you can sit at the cafe and see your child(ren) playing in the playground below it.
Yummy hot food as well as cakes and drinks. Small store but they have a good system for getting customers through, and there are many of them on a fine day. Good coffee and quick service are the highlights for me.
The Bakery in Warrandyte cooks in wood fired ovens and is located on the Yarra River. They make beautiful bread, yummy danishes, cakes and desserts and hot coffee. There is a large seating area under shade just adjacent to a large children's playground. You can walk down to the river and many dog walkers stop for a bite to eat at The Bakery. If you have a well behaved dog, he is welcome to sit with you. On weekends there is sometimes live music playing too. It's a great place to grab a snack and buy your fresh bread.
