I've been to this pub many times before but never again. Food bland and tough. All 4 of us were disappointed. And what's more, I think they ripped us off. Won't be back, ever

when i went here it was extremely busy, so i expecred to be left waiting a hile but to my surprise i was in and out fairly quick. if dinking there i think the prices are fair but i have to agree and say that the take away prices are abit on the more expensive side. staff are very friendly here though and it seemed like a really popular place in the area

The husband wanted to have a break on our way through so stopped here for a drink and to grab a few to take with us. Staff were very friendly and efficent at serving, prices were reasonable on the drinks but the take aways a bit over priced. Meal area was bust and looked clean and smelt great but we just enjoyed a drink and left. Want to pop in next time for a meal

Went out for dinner on a Sunday night with my partner. The place was quiet which was nice. I ordered the fish and chips which was great! The salad was a bit bland but the fish was beautiful.
Overall the quality of the food was great, a little expensive but good. The bistro area was new, modern and a nice atmoshphere!

i went out for dinner on Thursday night with my wife, the pub was very full but made room for us next time we might book! the new bistro area has had a face lift and looks nice with big blown up pictures of the pub on the walls good to see some history. i had to start the scallops which were amazing set in a creamy delicate celeriac puree and topped with a crisp leek and bacon salad yum and my wife had the wild mushroom and goats cheese bruschetta nice change than always getting tomato bruschetta. the meals came out in 5 minutes. for our mains i choose the butter chicken curry and it was awesome nice and fresh and the curry base was definitely not from a jar, my wife had the chunky authentic bolognese and it was nice to see it done without mince meat! fresh herbs and nice Parmesan made it a delight to eat. service was ok had to get up for drinks a couple of times and no one offered deserts but we were full anyway. i did ask the waitress if the chef was new and he is! a young local man who shows a lot of passion for food i hope he keeps it up the telegraph seems to be on the right track again i will be back

We dined again here Jan 2011, as a family of 4, so it was after their refurb and they had settled down. The place looks great and has a nice feel but the dining room and lounge are all 1 L shaped room. We were seated over near the lounge part and there was a band setting up. They were loud with their sound check and then they decided to play a song. A staff member finally went over and asked them to turn it down. He was thanked by another table near us.
This room would be better to be divided off from the eating area and then maybe opened up later in the evening.
The food was good and meals a decent size. We got our meals pretty quick, but we mainly had parma's. I later heard there would be a 2 hour wait for meals. Not sure how that works.
Yes i would eat here again but would request a table away from the lounge.

Just the 2 or us dined here. The waitress quickly cleaned a table for us and we were seated. We didn't realised they gave table service, so we went to the counter to order. Within 20mins the Garlic Bread was out and then we probably had to wait another 20 - 30mins for Mains. They bought us drinks as well. Not bad service.

Not your average pub meal - the menu at the Tele is extensive and sometimes quite gourmet. The meals are quite expensive for a 'pub' but definitely worth it - especially the pies of the day, and of course the chicken parma! A great beer garden out the back with live bands playing every Friday night during the summer months. Bookings a must.
