We visited this cafe with our children and found it to be very average with overpriced food and drinks as well as very slow service seeing we were the second table with anyone there at all. I found the inside too cluttered to sit in but it is a nice soot to sit outside anywhere within the gardens. We only had light meals and drinks that were an average size. Not sure I would rush back as there are so many wonderful places in the Hunter Valley to be enjoyed so much more.

We had the pleasure of eating our lunch here on the weekend. We had traveled down to see the gardens to celebrate our first wedding anniversary but as soon as we arrived and were about to set out it POURED down rain so we decided we would explore the Garden Village and find something to eat and hope the weather would be kind (it wasn't)

What we found was this rather quaint cafe. I am originally a country girl so I appreciated the decor and the staff uniforms. What I loved was the atmosphere was complimented by the home style and country friendliness.

The service was quick and friendly, the cafe was full to the brim yet we received very quick and friendly service.

My husband and I both had burgers. My husband chose the beef burger which he could not fault and enjoyed very much! I had the chicken burger which I was very happy with. I must admit I did have to eat it with my knife and folk as it was a little too big to eat the traditional way! I had an iced mocha and I do not like iced coffee but this was beautiful! I almost wanted to go back for another on the way home! My husband had a thick shake he said was fine but nothing much to rave about.

On the down side, because of the weather everyone was crammed into indoor setting which made it VERY hard to get in and out of.

I love the gift ware and nicks and nacks for sale around the shop it's a nice touch to the country theme.

Overall it was a very nice experience and I think we will definitely go back when the weather is better so we can use our garden tickets.

Charming experience, great food and service.

Set in the Valley Gardens Village it has lovely views, reasonably well set out especially the outside area, a real plus is the supply of blankets at the tables if people are feeling a bit on the cool side. The service was adequate a bit slow at times. The food was very tasty and portions a good size. All in all a pleasant experience

Taste Of The Country is a charming little cafe located in the Pokolbin Village shops. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and all the artwork on the walls is available for sale which is a nice touch. The customer service I received here was exemplary, the staff were very well-mannered and helpful. Unfortunately, the quality of food my friends and I ate here was not very good. The servings were large, but the food seemed oily, average and not very good value for money. The burgers were so large that they proved quite difficult to eat. I am unlikely to eat here again.

Charming little cafe, truly a Gem in the Hunter valley. Service on the weekends was a little slow, but the food (the BIG BREAKFAST) was well worth it. plus the charming wait staff was a big plus. Great customer service.

Great Cafe inside the Village Shops in the Hunter Valley. Coffee is great and servings huge. Bought an all day breakfast plate and it was HUGE and delicious. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
