Taste of Shanghai in this branch is the best place for dumplings. The salt and pepper pork chop us amazing. The service is very hectic.

I love this place but to be honest it's only for a few dishes. My family's Shanghainese so I like particular dishes. I like the rice cakes with wild vegetable , rice with vegetables and salty pork in soup, and pork buns. That's pretty much all I eat from there.
The prices are decent but not the cheapest. It is one of the only places that serve Shanghai style dishes though (usually Cantonese, Northern or Sichuan). This place does serve those too ( Shanghai has very little signature dishes... Pretty much the dishes I named are it).
Gets super crowded at dinner. Better to arrive early.

I just love the green beans and prawn dumplings here and its great that they have some unique flavour combinations. I also tried the crab dumplings which were ok but just didn't have enough crab flavours. I will definitely be coming back to this store to try more of thier dishes.

Approximate cost: $15

The pan-fried pork buns had beautiful crispy bottoms with a tasty meat filling and the xiao long baus were equally satisfying. The skin was a tad dry on some dumplings but nothing major that a dunk in vinegar can't fix. Expect to pay additional 50 cents if you must have your dumplings with ginger.love to go again.

I do love coming here for the dumplings and steamed buns. My faves are the spicy crab meat steamed buns ( which had more pork then crab in them) and the pork dumplings with chilli oil. Lots of nice flavours and not too spicy!

Complimentary tea is also served at the table or you can order drinks.

Try and come before lunch time rush hour as it does get abit chaotic but well worth it. They do have other stores like at Hurstville, Eastwood and Ashfieild too!

Approximate cost: $8 +

This is one of the best shanghaiese restaurant in sydney. I like the "big meat ball", inside the pork ball it also has egg yolk. Very traditional style! I also like the shallot fried beef. The dumplings and buns are as good as expected! The rice cake there are good too.

It is a nice place to sit down. They are always packed however they are very quick. The Shanginese Food was amazing. The prices were little bit high. The Xiaolongbao were excellent.

Somehow, even though the food was good, the dire quality of the service really impacted on our meal. There were a lot of staff but no-one seemed to be doing much. Most diners were hel;ping themselves to missing cutlery, water and so on, or resorting to standing a waving their arms about for attention. 2 of the dishes we ordered were "sold out"? really?, at lunch time at 12?? Food was slow, it was like being drip fed. What we had was good, but having to constantly search for things made it totally not worth it.

Approximate cost: $10-25

Sold out by 12? That is difficult to believe. Your whole experience sounds dreadful, thanks for reviewing this business as I probably will not check it out after reading this.
