One of the best Indian places in Newcastle. I enjoyed the quality of the Indian food. The service was excellent an welcoming. Will go back there again.

wow...this place has the most delicious tandoori chicken,i only got the half size and that was plenty to fill me up,the staff were very welcoming and i really enjoyed dining there

Visited there recently with a group of work colleagues. Haven't been for ages and they didn't disappoint. The service was brilliiant & the food delicious. One of the best Indian restaurants in Newcastle.

In some pretty challenging circumstances, Surtaj Restaurant staff made our Buck's night dinner a really good experience - a great stop off between nightspots. We rolled up without a booking, with a group of eight, and quite late in the night. The staff were brilliant - and played along with some of the friendly banter from the Buck's slightly inebriated mates. The food was very tasty - the naan's were brilliant and the curries were very good. Pretty reasonable price also between the eight of us. Really appreciated the experience guys - we will be back (in smaller and less drunk numbers).

Surtaj is the pick of the Indian restaurants around Newcastle. Food and service is great. Always able to get a table and the prices are reasonable.

The staff are friendly, the food is great and the variety brilliant. The value for money is great. The place is up stairs though and so if you have a baby in a pram its a bit hard to go to.

Really yummy food, great service from friendly staff, good value for money. My favourite dish is Chicken Surtaj! Nice for a family meal or a romantic dinner for two. Great restaurant size, big enough to have a large party, they have banquets also.
