I used these guys under the guise of Blue Rhino Removals who were bought out by Superstar (I later found out). I was moved by two chinese guys who's English was not great and who did not put the most effort into the move (the driver was on his L's!). I used to work as a removalist myself in Canada (Bekins) and QLD. The standard was way below what I have come to expect from removalists but then I guess you get what you pay for. They only padded the furniture once it was in the truck which I find unacceptable for certain items and they showed inexperience in moving some pieces (such as large sofas). I was also disappointed to find that the service was quoted ex GST which was never advised, meaning an extra $50 at the end of the move... not impressed. I will probably go back to doing my future moves myself, I would recommend using a more reputable firm or at least request an Aussie/English speaking crew.

DO NOT USE, absolutely appalling! Sent 2 guys with no experience, took over 8hrs for a small 3br house, the broke stuff, did not use any blankets to protect our furniture, we called about 3 times throughout the day to report how upset we were but never called us back. Use at your own risk.

First time ever using a removal company, made life a lot easier especially when the staff are so helpful, friendly & efficient! Will definitely recommend them to others!

I could no recommend this company LESS and am shocked at the good reviews they have received! Perhaps my experience was a one-off.

We booked two removalists and a truck. I told the consultant over the phone that we were moving from a one bedroom apartment, that both buildings had lifts and that we were going from one suburb, to the next suburb over. She assured me that such a job would usually take around 2 hours (from past experience with other removalists, I agreed that that is how long it SHOULD take for a job of this nature).

To my disappointment, this was not the case.

The removalists arrived (20 minutes late) and complained that we did not have a car park prepared for them (despite the fact that the consultant who booked us in assured us this wouldn't be a problem and that it was the driver's job to sort this out). After my fiancé was asked to purchase a parking ticket for them, they proceeded to move our furniture as slowly as humanly possible. They worked so slowly in fact, my fiancé ended up doing quite a lot of the moving himself. After taking around half of the furniture in our apartment, the removalists then began to take boxes (which we had intended to move ourselves, because let's face it, we DON'T need to pay $100 an hour to move BOXES!) My fiancé asked them just to move the furniture as we wanted that done first, to which they argued, “We have just a little bit of room on the truck, so we'll take a couple of boxes just to fill it up”. This seemed quite reasonable to him, so he agreed, they then proceeded to spend a further hour moving two boxes at a time, far more than “Just a couple to fill the truck” as they had promised. At this stage, it was clear they were deliberately ensuring we would need to book more time with them, and thus pay more than we had originally planned. To confirm this, my fiancé said to them, “At this rate, it will take much longer then 2 hours” to which they replied, “No problem, we're free all day.”

I understand that you do not provide fixed rates for jobs, however, explain to me how it could possibly take 4 ½ hours to move from a 1 BEDROOM APARTMENT to another, ONE SUBURB OVER! It was obvious that these men were deliberately taking longer than necessary in order to make more money, since they had no more jobs booked for that day.

I find this practise absolutely disgusting. To make matters worse, I have found it near impossible to get in touch with a manager to discuss the issue further. There is no way known they would EVER get my business again!

Approximate cost: $425 for a one bedroom apartment!!!

Just to further iterate my displeasure with this company, have been trying to get in touch with a manager of this company to discuss my complaint for 2 months now and they have ignored my emails, given incorrect address details to send written letters (resulting in 2 letters coming back to me as RTS) and have failed to deliver on promises to return phone calls. Am gobsmacked at theirs lack of professionalism, just hoping consumer affairs sort them out!

Awful company, DO NOT HIRE!!! Booked for us to move house at 9am, they called to say they would be 4 hours late due to truck unavailability but they didn't show up until 8.15PM when it was about the get dark. My husband and I ended up having to move ourselves. Very, VERY unhappy customers.

VERY DISAPPOINTING SERVICE.

We were moving out of a rental house and I received a flyer from Superstar Removals and Cleaning service in the mail box. I liked the idea of dealing with one company to look after the removal truck, the vacate cleaning and carpet cleaning and so I booked their services. They couldn't book the cleaning via the 1300 number but put me through to another number so that I could book it. I had to give all the contact and address details again which was frustrating but I was happy when everything was booked.

For the removalist they had a special for $79 per hour printed on the flyer, they told me that that there was an additional charge of $40 for the drivers to travel back to the office. I agreed to this extra charge and explained that there were only a few items to be moved because we had already moved a lot of it ourselves and made a point of asking the lady if the total cost would be $79 + $40.

When the movers arrived they very quickly took me aside to explain that there was a 2 hour minimum but that the move itself would take less than an hour. I explained that they lady on the phone has assured me that it would only cost $79 plus the $40 travel fee, he stated that the price was $198 so I decided to ring the office to have them tell the mover the price I was quoted. I spoke to the same lady as I had the day before but she didn't seem to remember me and stated that I did have to pay $198. I reiterated the conversation that we had the day before and that she had never mentioned a two hour minimum (and neither had the flyer). She was quite rude and so I decided to cancel the cleaning service for later in the week since I was concerned that I would be left in a similar situation with the quoted price changing once they had started the work. This time she told me that she couldn't transfer me to the cleaning service because they were a different company and that she would have to give me the phone number to call myself.

The move itself was okay - three young students who were nice enough but not particularly motivated or professional.

I was very disappointed the service of Superstar. I understand if they want to have a two hour minimum policy but they should have explained it over the phone when I booked or printed it on their flyer. The worst part is that their flyer states "NO HIDDEN CHARGES" What rubbish!
