I dined here for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. The service was polite and reasonably efficient. Entree was served a few minutes upon ordering. It was a grilled squid with a tasty tomato based sauce with red onion salad was really tasty and I wanted to mop up the gravy with some bread. Yum.

There was a good interval before mains were served, which was good as it does not make one feel rushed. I ordered the basque seafood stew with 2 pieces of ciabatta and butter($36). The portion was pretty generous - prawns, clams, mussels, scallop, chorizo, potato cooked in a tomato-based broth. We ordered fries with aioli to share ($8) and dipping the fries in the seafood stew was great. My partner had a pork chop ($28) and portion was ok (1 piece of medium sized chop). But if you have fries to share it's fine.

The place has a nice vibe to it, but I guess we got a nice table for 2 along the wall. I would not have liked the seats right next to the feature-heater with fire as it would have been a bit too hot after a while (plus one of theose tables were too close to the other big table). Noise-level was a bit too high from the pub area though.

All in all, this is a place I wouldn't mind returning to.

Approximate cost: $30

I have been to this trendy bar and restaurant a few times, most recently for some casual drinks but have been for lunch as well. While the mains menu wasn't extensive there are still a few options to choose from and I enjoyed a great lamb dish. I thought it was a little overpriced, but still an enjoyable experience. The service for lunch was reasonable, a little slow but the restaurant was packed so that is understandable.

When we recently went for drinks, it was lovely to sit outside with the fresh breeze and it is only a short stroll down to the Swan River.

There is a wine-wall where you can pour wine straight from the wall into your glass, but I haven't given this a go. Might be something interesting to try next time!

Approximate cost: $30-40
