I have been to the Sporting Club a couple of times and it's getting better and better. The food is pretty good with lots of vego choices, it's better than average pub grub. The service can be a bit flaky and delays can occur but problem was acknowledged with good grace and free drinks.

Staff are really friendly, food is quite fancy for pub fare, patrons are usually a more mature crowd (not many 18 year old louts here). Really nice decor, lots of different areas to hang out and have a drink or dinner. They have daily food specials (Monday is Roo and wine night for $10!) The bands and musos booked for gigs are usually really good too and it's free entry.
