Only giving 1 star because I can't give no star....
Turned up at 5.50pm, 4 other people in the shop, ordered 2 x plain burgers with raw onion and 4 x scallops, total cost $16.80. Lady taking the order couldn't work out how much change to give me because I gave her $52.00 and then muttered something under her breath about it. After waiting 20 mins and seeing people order and leave with food, I asked how long it was going to be, I was told by a woman that they were cooking fish so couldn't cook burgers till they were done (I'm pretty sure they have more than one hot plate) I asked her if that was going to be ok as I am allergic to fish all she said was "yeah we cleaned it". Finally after 30 mins, got my food only to get home and find both burgers were a small layer of lettuce, 1 slice of medium sized tomato, onion and pattie, $6.00 and didn't even get beetroot. Will never go back here again. Shite overpriced food and shite underwhelming service!!!
Take it from a local, if you're after a good burger Smith Street takeaway is a better choice.

Have always had great BBQ chickens or fish cocktails & chips there. Never had any problems and always great. Would recommend them for value and quality

Terrible. Previous visit my wife found 2 short black curly hairs on her hamburger! Yuk! Called them and the man apologised and offered to give us free food if we came back but we just couldn't make return. 2 years later I bought a couple of potato scallops there but they were nothing special and cost heaps for a scallop. I don't want to state the wrong amount but I think it was $1.20 or $1.30 each where the Nepean square seafood place scallops are lovely and only 50cents. Southlands Staff were rude and sour. Closed early and turned away other customers who had driven to their shop within their opening hours. A couple more visits staff still sour (once one girl was pleasant but every other time, just uninviting). This last visit I cant rate the food because at 7:16 pm they wouldn't serve me as they had started cleaning. If you advertise opening hours until 7.30, you should make sure you can provide customers your produce until that time. Otherwise advertise that you don't cook burgers after 7:16, scallops after 7:26 and soggy salads only available until 7:29. Wake up! Not good business people. I've been to the fish shop on Great Western Highway Emu Plains and the owners are absolutely lovely. Their fish is really good quality and taste even in their cocktails.they stay open after hous if people keep coming and they are really delightful people. Not sure of the address but it's about 10 doors towards Sydney from the Pub near traffic lights and set back a little off the street.

Approximate cost: $20

Terrible service and average food. I walked out of this place after being ignored by two people behind the counter while they gasbagged to a customer. Only takes eye contact to be acknowledged.

It's Good Friday, probably the busiest day of the year for a fish and chip shop. We phone ahead @7pm to order take away. Told its too busy and to come in store to order, drive 15 -20 mins to the store; the doors were locked and told it's too busy and the shop is closing .....pretty unimpressed after being told to come into the store only to show up and be turned away! Happy to be reasonable as it's a busy day but with no dinner and a 20 minute drive home our family was hungry and cranky.

Hubby and I ordered battered fish and chips and hubby a battered sav for an entrée. Sav was hot but hard and rubbery. The fish and chips were lovely - not too greasy. We phoned our order through as we live 15 mins away, but the order was not ready when we arrived to collect it even though the shop was not busy.

An excellent all round takeaway store. Their fish and chips are always tasty & there service is good. Their opening hours are not great as they seem to close early in the evening, often before I get a chance to buy food. Well worth trying.

truth they need to open a bit later in the evenings. :)
