Called to make a booking close to Christmas and they were very helpful and friendly. Our booking was for 20 people and they accommodated us very well. Food was at a great price - 2-4-1 on Tuesday's and we all had an enjoyable time. Staff were friendly.

The restaurant is run by the "oscars" chain. Food is good standard pub food in a nice pub setting. Staff really try hard, and the specials, such as Monday Rib night make it very affordable. Lots of parking, makes it a great spot for large family gatherings

An unexpected great hotel now it's been done up. Plenty of tables and chairs, comfortable and seemingly quite family focused.

Good selection of food in the bistro and just a bit above your average pub bistro by way of quality and taste. The staff are very friendly and always seem very helpful

We went to the Southern Cross on a Friday night and had dinner in the bistro. As a group of 12 people including 2 teenagers and a toddler, the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. They moved tables, advised us on food, double-checked orders, kept and eye on fast-moving children, and SMILED the whole time!

The food was fantastic, my steak was delicious and the ribs looked wonderful, prices were very reasonable, but the most important factor was the staff, I can't speak highly enough of them.

A pleasant surprise when we stumbled across this local pub by accident! The staff, food and atmosphere easily rival most of its neighbouring pubs on king st,newtown! Gr8 place if youre looking for good food,atmosphere and somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of newtown!

I went to this pub for a quick dinner with friends. The place has been newly renovated and has a very relaxed atmosphere. The food standard is mixed - I didn't really enjoy my pasta but others enjoyed their meals (steaks especially). The service was above par though. The location isn't great but once you're inside you barely notice you're on the highway.
