We love this place for the view and the Devonshire Tea!

On a beautiful Sydney day the outdoor seating area is a must to take in the views, fresh air and (but for my children) the tranquility of the area.

The lunch meals are generous, delicious and despite the fact you are paying a little more (because of the views and the tourist destination that it is) it is worth it.

The scones are large - so if you have eaten a meal but still fancy the the scones with cream and home made strawberry jam (its rather divine) then grab a serve to share between two (and order a second drink).

Service is friendly and while not the speediest, there is no huge rush because the views are great.

Inside is great on a wet cold day. They are closed on Tuesdays and may close lunch service early on the weekends due to functions (weddings and the like).

We were given a $100 Australia's Best Restaurant's voucher as a wedding present from my husband's work colleagues. As we were planing our honeymoon in the Blue Mountains we looked into the venues who accepted the voucher and came across solitary.

Solitary is situated in a beautiful area of Leura over looking the Jameson valley. The view is lovely, we were lucky enough to be seated at a window seat which really added to the dinning experience.

The staff were very attentive and it was easy to get their attention when we required it. We had dinner on a Friday night and were very surprised that it was not full being one of the most popular restaurants in the area.

We had tried to have lunch here earlier in the week but found that they were closed so I recommend that you check the opening hours first as we were very disappointed on missing out and having to make other plans.

The meals are reasonable size thought the prices are a little high this is a fine dinning restaurant so high prices are something to be expected but I think they would do better if they dropped the prices and mixed the menu up a little (it does change seasonally but one would like some other options).

The complimentary amuse bouche was a nice touch and very tasty, was a taste of what was yet to come. The food was nice and very fresh my only complaint would be finding a bone in my salmon, this is a choking hazard and a no no for any restaurant, I had brought it to the attention of staff who didn't seem too concerned by it. I wasn't either than I wasn't choking on it at the time either... point still stands in a fine dinning restaurant this shouldn't happen. But it could be forgiven for the whole experience was lovely indeed.

A perfect dinning experience in a beautiful location, highly recommended!!

Approximate cost: $From $27

We loved it here! It was a Birthday lunch during the week an we could not fault one thing. Great view, with an excellent meal from start to finish.

The view from this cafe/restaurant is definitely the best thing and should be made more of. But the service was slow, meals a bit ordinary and overpriced. Interesting history display in the foyer.
