Solar 2000 were professional throughout the entire quote and install process. They kept me up to date with the progress and even called when there were going to be anything that I might need to know about the current state of play with solar parts suppliers allowing me to change my order where possible. Their integrity in doing this has been fantastic.

I found the whole process from the time of requesting quotes through Solar Quotes easy and simple. The system selected and the supplier were not the cheapest, but offered I felt best value for money. Solar 2000 provided good service from the initial contact with the sales consultant George, through to final installation which was done efficiently and without fuss. All staff were friendly and helpful. Just waiting on ETSA do their bit and install the import export meter. The other companies I sought quotes from were also friendly and knowledgeable and I would have been happy to deal with either of them.

I have been using the 4KW system installed by Solar 2000 for over 6 months now and am very pleased with it. On the increasingly frequent sunny cloudless days I am generating up to 24.5 KWh per day. This is over 3 times the power I am using from the grid. I calculate that although I'm only getting 26c feed in tariff, and paying up to 34c from the grid, my usage from the grid plus daily charge at 69c and the majority of water heating at 13c is being paid for by my solar system when the day is sunny and cloudless. I am anticipating many more of these as we move into summer (when I'll need to start using the airconditioner). Overall, I think my decision to go solar with Solar 2000 has been and will continue to be well justified. I calculate my 'pay back time' for the system will be about 4 years.

We had solar installed, the product was excellent, just what we wanted. There was lots of confusion in admin because we had it installed at another house as well as ours. Had to keep chasing for info as we got lots for one house, and none at all for the other. The right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing, but that seems about on par for SA... don't know how some other businesses survive.
We got there in the end, and we were happy enough. The installers were a bit rough around the edges. One left black water spattered over the bathroom when he decided to wash his face...a bit odd. One took forever to give my cheque to S2000, and thus delayed my paperwork coming through. The other house's installer said he'd spoken to a woman here...my husband was by himself here that day.
A good system and good installs, we chose the panels and inverter we wanted, but organization was quite lacking. I had to keep asking questions, as they seemed to assume a certain amount of knowledge on our part, but we knew nothing at all about it.
I think we confused them all by having two systems.
The admin lady was really good, though, and fixed the problems as they occurred.
We got a really good price, no dodgy el cheapo rubbish like you see around the place, and I'm happy overall.

Approximate cost: $7,700

I've just seen the reply...the problem wasn't ETSA dates, it's just that we were constantly being informed about progress, or lack thereof, on one house, but not on the other. We had no idea that both installs were happening on the same day, until that very week, when my husband decided to ask about the other one, as we had heard nothing.

The etsa approvals had all gone through by that time. Other than that, and other confusions, we had a great experience, and we have recommended Solar 2000 to everyone, as having a superior product for a good price.

The installer experience was a little lacking, see above, but overall they were great, and really quick and knowledgable.

Brittany was the one that held it all together, and we had to keep emailing her or ringing, to find out stuff.

I must stress, there was only confusion about house/lot numbers with Etsa, and that was ironed out easily, it had nothing to do with the other confusions.

All in all, I confidently recommend them, the system is working beautifully, even in cloudy weather, it generates well.

On reflection, what would have been really useful, is some sort of procedural info list....
Along the lines of
You order this,
Then we do that,
Then we do the form,
Then etsa does this,
Then we organize that,
Then you contact your energy provider,
Then this happens, then that happens,
Then we install,
Then you are generating.

It would have been really useful, as we didn't know the procedure, and had to keep asking questions of Ashley, (who was really helpful).

We just felt like we were flying blind, and the info up front on the procedure would have been really helpful.
