Their sourdough bread sandwiches for breakfast is a good option during the weekend.

Shillinglaw is a favourite family brunch spot. When the weather is fine it is lovely to sit and relax at an outdoor table while my 4 year old can play in the sandpit under the big tree.
Inside is a cosy setup with a warm open fire.
The breakfast menu offers more variety than other local eateries and be sure to check the specials board.
My favourite breakie is the Mushroom & Thyme Stack $15.50
Char-Grilled Sour Dough topped with Sautéed Thyme Mushrooms Poached Eggs and House Hollandaise and my husband can't go past the Breakfast $18.95
Organic Sour Dough with 2 Eggs (as you like), Crispy Bacon, Chipolata, Roast Tomato, Baby Spinach, Hash Brown, Field Mushrooms & House Made Tomato Relish.
The staff are really friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Highly recommend!

The evening we had was in a classy (ie. white linen tablecloths, and napkins, also with quality wines), whilst relaxed, atmosphere. Our food was very high quality, with excellent produce and cooked to perfection. The menu was both seasonal and diverse, catering to both my partners tastes, and mine. Our hosts were also helpful, and enhanced the enjoyment of the dinner. Beautiful location and easily accessible, I would recommend highly.

Approximate cost: $24

Finally found a place where I can sit down with friends and let our kids run around. The staff were very friendly and straight away provided the kids with pencils and paper. They have baby change facilities, high chairs and a kids menu with fresh food! the main stand out is the back garden that's safe for the kids to run around and they even provide soccer balls. The Devonshire Cream Tea's are a must try.

Approximate cost: $13 -$19

Excellent Belgian hot chocolate for an outer suburban cafe. Menu used to be more modern but is now more traditional (e.g. Sunday roasts). Great that there are now tables under the large shady tree. Near library and playground.
