Whist staying in Coffs Harbour we dined at Shearwater twice. First for a late lunch and then for breakfast the next morning.
We can only say, that the experience was very pleasant. The management and staff were pleasant and courteous and the food faultless. Our only negative comment is that on both occasions we were seated by the staff in positions which picked up the draft between corridors, which meant that we were a little uncomfortable. The view over the river was good and in full view of the Hire craft below. People were flicking their bread rolls into the water to attract the fish, some of which were big enough and small enough to fit our plates...... Definitely a great place for a relaxing drink and some good eats...........highly recommended.

The first place my husband and I shared a dinner together was here, and we have been back once since then. I ordered a vegetarian stack with cous cous, and my husband ordered duck. The food was very nice, as was the candlelit table and the view overlooking the deck. I cannot complain about the service, the more than adequate attention we received, the taste of our food, or the bill. Very reasonably priced and a very happy dining experience both times.

This was a really nice venue, somewhat hidden from the street, and overlooking great wetlands. The service was fantastic the night we went. The waitress was really accommodating and friendly. Food was excellent with a decent menu to choose from and prices were standard. We happened to go at low-tide, which although was not as visually pleasing, there was still lots to look at. It's unfortaunte they don't have their own bathroom facilities on site leaving you to walk over to public toilets, and the inside of the venue was not quite as attractive as the out. But the deck was great and we will definately go back.

Approximate cost: $26
