Our unit is only 11 months old and they have come out twice to replace parts on the DVR instead of replacing the lemon. We know that this DVR won't last the year and we will probably have to call them back to replace it and it would be at our cost. Also, make sure you check everything thoroughly like the cable sockets because after we parted with all our money we found out that they did not provide cable sockets they just drilled a hole in the plaster and pulled the cable through which is not a neat job as far as I am concerned. After we complained several time they did come back and fix it the socket. Also, the unit would have to be the noisiest system around so whatever you do don't have it installed in your bedroom. I would suggest that you get 3 references from home users first before you make a decision unfortunately we have had too many issues.
